Justified: City Primeval preview

Post by AtomicTom » Sat Jun 24, 2023 10:58 am

Did anyone hear that Justified was returning?

Well I guess it’s more of a sequel honestly, but it looks like
Raylan Givens is back and so is Timothy Olyphant. 8-)

Here is a look, I hope everybody enjoys:

Detroit, 15 years later.
If you haven’t watched the first run, do so immediately. Greatness from Elmore Leonard.

Just watched a couple of episodes from Season 2 yesterday, what an awesome show.

Anyone watched the new one yet? It came out today I believe.

I have to finish the Bear as well, before I start Justified.

Almost finished with the series (thanks quarantine!)

I will say its great. It got even better when his daughter went home. She was annoying as h3ll

I’m disappointed. Nowhere near the first season. Boyd Crowder was a complex villain. The new one is cardboard. I get he’s bad but no depth whatsoever.
With the people involved, including Walter Mosley, it should have been better.

I hear what you're saying; however, I'm cynical and pretty happy they didn't F it up worse, like so many other series/franchises are these days.

I also read the book recently, and there are some great references in the show

Agreed. She was as annoying as a real teenage girl. As stupid too.

Oof. My daughter's are 5 and 8. It's looming....

I'm re-watching the original series now, on season 3. What a damn awesome show. City Primeval holds up in my opinion, but we'll see how it ends...

Raylan’s relationship with the lawyer seemed forced to me. Odd.
I thought there were too many boring spots, too. I have one more episode to go.

Pretty much have to agree with this assessment. I was happy just to get to see Raylan Givens on screen again, but knew it would be hard to top the greatness of the original series, and one of the best endings to a show I’ve ever seen.

Oh, and for anyone who didn’t realize, Timothy Olyphant’s actual daughter played Raylan’s daughter in the new miniseries. Her first acting job, I believe, so don’t judge too harshly.
