Planned Fall Car Purchase On Hold Until Spring 2020 (or later)
I test drove a Telluride back in March and was very impressed.
The plan was to buy one around October or so.
In the meanwhile, I joined a Telluride Forum to get a sense of owners' opinions.
Overall, very positive and lots of people waiting months for delivery - a very popular, highly rated vehicle.
However, there have been a number of glitches with various electrical components, issues with parts availabilty and
and a lack of knowledge by service techs to correct issues.
Nothing out of the ordinary for a new release, just don't see any reason to buy at this point.
Plus, I got my '03 Suburban inspected today and no work was needed to pass.
(not going to re-order the Sedna Seamaster, just going to save for a larger downpayment)

One other thing, I get more time to gather free kindling.

It's nice not having a car payment.mattcantwin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 1:51 pmOne other thing, I get more time to gather free kindling.
I hope you aren't burning pressure-treated wood.

Im still trying to rap my head around you wanting to replace your Suburban with a Kia.
Seriously though, good move waiting as first year vehicles will have issues. Even when they changed the body styles on the Tahoe, Suburban, and Yukons in 2015 there were some problems. One reason I didn't want one from that year.
As you know I just replaced my 01 Yukon with a Certified Pre-owned 2016. Absolutely love it and no regrets. May be another option to consider. Sold my 01 to my step-son so it stays in the family

Nothing set in stone anymore.
A year or two ago, I decided to hold on to the Suburban until it fell apart; may go back to that.
Only 85,000 miles.

The motor isn't even broke in yet.mattcantwin wrote:Nothing set in stone anymore.

My 01 had 246K and still ran like it was new. Just burned a little oil.

Still running my 95 land cruiser on the island and it’s only got 368,000. So 85,000 is like the guys are saying...just broke in. Great decision to wait and no payments is great feeling! Certified pre owned is a great way to go. We picked up our 2015 CX-9 CPO rather than get a new 2016 because they changed engines etc...for 16.59yukon01 wrote:The motor isn't even broke in yet.mattcantwin wrote:Nothing set in stone anymore.

have you seen the straight pipes youtube review of the telluride? they love it. I think that’s what we’ll get when the time comes to replace my wife’s old pathfinder
The telluride isn’t the kind of car people change exhausts and intakes on. The only owners that bother to post on that forum are the ones with problems.

Joined the FB Telluride group.
Lots of happy owners with the occasional nightmare experience.
Feeling good about my decision to wait.
