I am really sorry to hear that. That was such a nice looking one.JDC222 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 3:45 pmI dumped the Defender, as I could not deal with the “unpredictable coolness” of the Beast. It broke down one too many (three times in a month) times for me.
I picked up a 2013 XTerra Pro 4X with low kms. My RTT mounts well, new BFG KO2’s...should be good for some camping trips!

Ah, man, I hate to see that Defender go, but I completely understand.JDC222 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 3:45 pmI dumped the Defender, as I could not deal with the “unpredictable coolness” of the Beast. It broke down one too many (three times in a month) times for me.

I have this image of me cruising to the beach with my surfboards in the back of a Defender 90, but the reality of their reliability keeps me in my Toyota Tacoma that runs like a top every time I turn the key.

As the owner of an R51, I agree with the travesty part but would argue the R52 isn't really a SUV but a crossover
The Defender is a badass rig, but having owned both a Range Rover and a Nissan, I'll take reliability over coolness at this point in my life

Re: Car Spotting
I feel the same way. I will still use the Xterra to camp with the RTT and pulling our trailer. We still have the Range Rover diesel, which has been reliable.four20 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 10:55 amAs the owner of an R51, I agree with the travesty part but would argue the R52 isn't really a SUV but a crossover

Big fan of the first generation xterra. Shame how Nissan in the USDM transformed from the most innovative Japanese automaker to fleet special within the last 15 years.
Re: Car Spotting
The Xterra will let you abuse her and won’t complain. K02’s a good choice, I run them on the GC and my son on his JK.JDC222 wrote:I dumped the Defender, as I could not deal with the “unpredictable coolness” of the Beast. It broke down one too many (three times in a month) times for me.

Passed this a bunch of times on rt202 in Lebanon, ME this weekend while hauling stuff from my storage units to my new house. I finally stopped last nite after emptying out the last of my crap. This little rig is badass

We have a bunch of Samurai's around here that are trail rigs. Believe it or not the stock motors do quite well.
I would love to have a k-5 blazer.
