Cobra Replica
so I sold the majority of my high dollar watches to fund a well built Cobra replica. I wanted an open sports-car and looked around and quite honestly the "modern" cars left me cold, too computerized, too comfortable, too sterile it's almost as if they don't need the driver. This thing is quite different, 2,250 lbs with me in the car, 90 inche wheelbase, 347CID/412 dynoed hp, willwood brakes, fully IRS with adjustable Koni Coilvers, fast. loud. No electronic nannies, no blue tooth, just get in and drive and concentrate on driving:

Absolutely stunning. I have a buddy that’s building one now in his garage. Re: Cobra Replica
thanks Patrick, it's an absolute rush to drive just tell him to respect it. The car is so light with lots of power it's sooooooo easy to get yourself in trouble with it. No ABS, no traction control (other than your right foot) takes some time to get used to it, but always respect it when your driving it or bad things can happenb
Re: Cobra Replica
Yeah, his is going to be even crazier. The engine he’s putting in the car is nuts! I’m not sure how it’s going to stay on the road. He has built cars before. This one is special.caesarmascetti wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 7:07 amthanks Patrick, it's an absolute rush to drive just tell him to respect it. Re: Cobra Replica
Awesome! Is it a Factory Five?
Re: Cobra Replica
That's beautiful. My good friend just totaled his when the rear end decided it wanted to be up front.

Beautiful and awesome. I'm currently looking at a Caterham for the same reasons as a retirement gift to myself.

Re: Cobra Replica
I love it.
Personally if I ever get one it would stick with a small black motor under 350hp and 300tq. They get scary way to fast. These days I tend to like a good driving car that won't make me shit my pants. Maybe I am getting old

Re: Cobra Replica
Fuck that. I rode in a Chevy Vegas once with a big block motor and induction. It was so scary it was stupid. All I took was a ride in a parking lot and I was like "WTF". True story I went for ride in my buddy's Tesla S and it got "stupid" really fast.CGSshorty wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 12:16 pmMy friend's car had a Coyote with “a bit” more power than that.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 11:21 amI love it.

Re: Cobra Replica
Oh okay. So those are not there anymore? Did you guys relocated that coil wire so it doesn't run over the top of the alternator? That is a oh shit waiting to happen. I know I am just some guy behind a computer. But I hate walking, and I have walked way to many times from shit I should have NOT done.caesarmascetti wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2019 12:41 pmthats was the funky coil the car had when it had FI, its since been replaced and the car has a Quikfuel 600cfm carb on which it likes much much better. 600 is a dope carb. Good on fuel, and still has some nuts to it. Are you running a manual choke also?

Re: Cobra Replica
yup relocated it and it has the electric choke with vacuum secondaries, starts nice and easy revs climb to about 1800-2100 as it warms, give it a little blip and it settles right to 800 rpm, nice roller cam, nice and streetable but still has fangs

Re: Cobra Replica
NIce part was I have all the paperwork from the build it was from Comp Cams, not sure of the specks as it's in the binder in the trunk if your interested in it here is the original build thread:
https://www.ffcars.com/forums/17-factor ... ead-2.html
The original owner spent a ton of money building it used some very nice parts the lost interest in it. Just the Mass-Flo efi system was $3500 and it never worked properly. If you want check out the thread these are really nice cars cars when they are built right. PS, PB (Willwoods), heat, IRS 17" wheels etc.....

Re: Cobra Replica
Comp Cams does great stuff. They do make junk. Enjoy a dope car.
The best way to buy a car is when someone losses interest. Because you do not lose as much of an investment.
Enjoy buddy
