New car day tomorrow.

Post by andy tims » Fri Dec 21, 2018 7:26 am

Well after nearly 20 years of Porsche ownership, I'm going back to Lotus tomorrow with this Exige Sport 380

It's a 2017 Sport 380 with only 1700 miles on the clock.

My old friend is up for sale

I'll miss the GT3, but nearly 13 years is long enough.

I've wanted an Exige since they first came to the US in 2006. Drove an Exige S in 2007 and was close to pulling the trigger, but at 6'4" tall it was not a great fit. I decided that a 911 was the better, if somewhat less interesting, choice. I still keep telling myself that I'll own an Exige one day...

Huge congrats on the Sport 380.

Andrew, that might be the first time I’ve heard someone call a 911 less interesting

Congratulations on the Lotus!! Beautiful ride.

I said "somewhat less interesting" Maybe I should have said "more conventional". I love my 911 but I have to admit that the Exige has the greater fun factor.

Am I the only one who is sad that there is a GT3 being replaced by something newer and sexier?

Very cool and congrats!! Years ago, I took an Exige for a rip and it was like driving a go kart! I think I would choose the Porsche for a DD but the Lotus should be a blast!

Crap, this thread re-ignited my Lotus Lust. Thanks a bunch Andy :nutkick:'

Anyone want to buy a gently used 993? ;)

6'5" here and feel your pain. One reason I'm still driving my E46 M3 - BMW seems to build cars for taller drivers....

Jeremy Clarkson didn't have an easy time getting out of it either when he reviewed the Exige S several years ago...

Very cool cars. However, with the new strain of stupid on the road nowadays I'd be very reluctant to invest that kind of money into a car.
