Rally School

Post by Ryeguy » Mon Nov 26, 2018 8:51 am

Somehow this Jalopnik article got into my Firefox recommended articles feed: https://jalopnik.com/heres-the-differen ... 1830575881

The interesting thing really wasn't the topic of 4X4 versus AWD, but rather the video of the Team O'Neil rally driver doing his explanation. I noticed all the NH license plates on the cars in the lot.

Turns out Team O'Neil is located about 2 1/2 hours from me and does rally driving classes.

I've always admired the skills of those rally drivers. I think they are some of the most highly skilled motorsports drivers around. I'm thinking I'll be asking Santa for driving course this holiday season. :headbang:

Michelle bought me an 'intro' package at DirtFish rally school some years ago, so much fun!

Hope you get to try it out.

I’ve been to O’Neil a couple of times and it’s pretty badass. Best off-road school in the country. Your left foot is going to get a lot of work. Your right foot pretty much just stays down. So much good there.

If I get the opportunity to take a rally class I'll remember to take a photo of the ARES before heading out on the course.

I say before because I'm fairly certain if I wait until after my hand will be shaking far too much to take a photo!

Very glad to hear your endorsement of their school.

Wow I’d love to do a rally driving class. Going to keep this in mind for future trips. Thanks for the note.

I would love to be able to go there one day. I think it would be really cool.

O'Neil does advertise group discounts. Maybe we should do a northern NH GTG / Rally Driving Class event?

We'd probably have to do the driving class first. I'd hate to imagine the puke comets coming out of those cars with a bunch of hung over watch guys at the wheel!

Just remember, ball's on the right pedal, diaper's on the left (or middle depending on trans configuration).

Some friends have done the Petty version at Talladega.
