Standard WRX. Not STI.

Well, perhaps he lied to me then. Not sure why we would though.
Remember, I said he had it tuned. He mentioned his mpg increased after that.

Even tuned would be 30 tops. But that’s still good.

You need the right tires for weather/snow.
I was very unimpressed with my Subaru Impreza in the snow. I was running standard tires.

I always wanted a WRX. I test drove one when I was 21 and got my first decent job. The salesman asked me if I checked with my insurance yet, I said no. I called them for a quote. The monthly insurance payment was about the same as the car payment. But I was young with a record. I was told they are one of the most expensive cars to insure... save your exotics and luxury cars.

I got 20 mpg in my tuned 14 STI. Same engine. Did he also tell you he's throwing down 300 HP at the wheels?

Someone brought up insurance - STI insurance is generally much less than WRX because they are more expensive, so the owners tend to be older/more mature and less likely to act like derelicts.

Have you thought about a Kia Optima?

I know the Cobb Accessport offers an economy map, but have not been able to find a definity mpg claim for it.
