My next car help me pick
My next car help me pick
Ok so we (not me) do threads on what watches to buy. In a few months my lease will run out and i'll be shopping for a new car. I've narrowed it down to a few options so help me out.
Currently i have a 06 Infiniti G35x sedan.
I do love HP this car has 280
AWD.. Well it comes in handy espy during these snow storms
So watch you fellas think?? price (monthly lease) of course is the most important.
I do like the Lexus GS350AWD but it seems a bit pricey, so i guess i would settle for the ES
The BMW 528 would be nice especially since "i hear" their coming out with a new body style for 2010. This would bring down the price of the old body in theory.
Infiniti G37x is just the new version of my car, would hate to get the same thing tho
infiniti FX35 (wish i could get the FX50) i also like the styling of this, espy the older body
newer one kinda looks like a Murano (hell same company) - also this would be as close as i can
come to my ultimate dream whip PORSCHE Chaynne TURBO (well maybe the FX50 with 400hp!) The SRT8 (jeep) i also heard is a beast at 50k... but their no longer
leasing
So im stuck with what "i can buy" vs. " what i would like to buy" - Story of my life.... (Dam wife, kid and house ) well not the kid

I would go Infinity again.
IMO the 5 series with the 2.8 is bit of a big. Looks great, just no get-up and go.

Drove the 535xi today and will all week. That kind of fun never gets old. If only I could afford my own...
Re: My next car help me pick
Wouldn't this be considered a negative selling feature?WatchNoob wrote:Cadillac CTS-V. Style, luxury and performance beyond what you have listed. Oh and it's Amercian

Re: My next car help me pick
In the process of looking myself especially after paying $124/hr to have some repairs
done to my 325...
* The 528 is nice but it has the smaller V6 in it...
Maybe check out the BMW 335...
* The Lexus in your poll ES 350 is a decent car but boring...
Lexus has the best service around..
* The Fx is ok--kind of cool looking....
* The Caddy CTS AWD is sweet and would be my choice but it's close to
50K w/anything in it..
This brings me to the G37x which in my opinion is the way to go..
Best all around car for the money...
One other choice--Acura TL (AWD Technical package) full loaded MSRP is 42
comes with every option...if you like the body style..plus it has a sweet engine.
---------------------
Top 4
*Infinity G37
*Acura TL
*2009 Caddy CTS (cert pre-owned or demo car)
*BMW 335
Cheers

I voted for the Fx, it is cool looking and probably more practical.
I would suggest checking out the Acura's too though.

Lots of BMW fans huh? I would go with the G37x simply more horsepower than the 528xi. That engine would not have the get go of the 535xi which is what one should pick when buying the 5 series. I would also look into an Acura TL and Audi A4/A6 Quattro.

What about a MB C350 or if you need AWD the C300 4Matic. I love mine.

Re: My next car help me pick
You might be surprised how well the "little 6" will grunt and go. I haven't actually driven the 5, but I'm constantly surprised [over and over and over] how much pep my wife's little 382i has. Did you drive it yet? Does fine on a monster hill or highway passing, is my bet. (You won't be able to race for pink slips anyway, since it is a lease.)
The 5 series used to be my grail. Hands down, no question, grail. That is until this last generation of body styles. Sorry to be so blunt, but I think they ruined that car. (I was riding in my friend's last week and it almost brought a little tear to my eye to think about it, even these days now that I've seen them thousands of times.) BMW consistently brings out a new body style every 7 years! Last year, they made amends on the 7 series by taking the "i dropped acid before designing my car" aspects out of that one. The 2009 7-series was an evolutionary change and not as drastic as the one 7 years before. But, it was a good evolutionary change in my opinion. I like the most current 7-series. I'm really looking forward to the next 5-series. Hey, that reminds me,. Why haven't I seen one yet???? Isn't it time already?
To answer the actual question:
1) Lexus ES - GS yes (esp. if it had a nice big trunk), ES not so much. IS? probably not that either, but possibly
2) BMW 528 - wait for next generation and decide based on that; 3-series 'yes'
3) G37x - not again; if that is the car I wanted (and it's a good one to want), I'd just buy the one I'm currently leasing
4) FX35 - nope, never. I don't get that one
* So from those choices, "buy the current G35x lease".

I've been checking out spy photos for the past few minutes. The new 5 series looks a little like a cross between the 6-series and the 3-series now. Hhhmmmm.

Re: My next car help me pick
Out of those, the Bimmer.
Why? Well i spent 40 days and 40 nights (yeah, Moses style) in the BMW plant as an engineer when i was sent there in S.C. to establish a database for them. Wow was i thrown back at how BMW parts get pampered! Ive had projects in the plants of many fine autos (Cadillac CTS, new Malibu, Aura, etc), but NONE compare to the BMW's in quality control and overall care to the parts. If there is a scratch, it gets tossed, no questions.
Ive been in the 5 series, not driving, and it feels nicer than the Infinity, and ALOT nicer than the Lexus. (im an interior guy by both preference, and profession)
Get the Bimmer, dont look back, and laugh when a Lexus pulls up next to you at the light, since he made the wrong choice.
