Back when I was a kid, I had a newspaper route for a job. I spent most of my earnings on bicycle parts and slot cars. I think the local track was 1/24 scale. Anyway, I was just thinking about it recently. I couldn't find any tracks in my area, but did find this race video.

Man, the cars now are crazy fast!

Just found a place 10 minutes from my house and took my son..Brought back great memories.

and yeah, sooooo much faster my than my old slot car rig that I kept beneath my bed

Holy hell. How do they get enough traction to accelerate a lightweight car like that?

On my slot car track I used to wrap my back tires in double stick tape
