Wow! I like what they've done with that. It's come a long way from the Camry of my youth.

Thanks...I've had it for 1 1/2 years now. great mileage (an hour each way to work and back), sport mode will get you where you need to be without hesitation or delay, lots of space for adults, and superb reliability and safety as it will probably handed down to one of the boys eventually.

Re: What do you drive???
my dad left his truck to my kid. so we sold her 2000 VW Bug and now I am tinkering with the truck. it has been next to a bayou for the last few years so rust has really fucked some shit up on it. not to mention all the mold on it. we spent 6 hours cleaning already. right front brake caliper locked up on it. so i am putting on new front brakes lines, brake pads, and rotors. next is a fluid flush for the transmission, transfer case, rear end, front end, brake fluid, antifreeze and the power steering.
my daughter loves it. so it will get the full treatment for sure.

Nice Terry. Makes me miss my 05 F150. I traded it in a few months ago so we could get something to tie behind the RV. The new Buick Envision is nice, but it’s not a truck and I’ve always had at least 3 occasions where I could have used the truck bed. I’m giving it some time to try to adjust and rebuild savings but I feel we’ll have a truck again in the next few years.toxicavenger wrote:my dad left his truck to my kid. so we sold her 2000 VW Bug and now I am tinkering with the truck. it has been next to a bayou for the last few years so rust has really fucked some shit up on it. not to mention all the mold on it. we spent 6 hours cleaning already. right front brake caliper locked up on it. so i am putting on new front brakes lines, brake pads, and rotors. next is a fluid flush for the transmission, transfer case, rear end, front end, brake fluid, antifreeze and the power steering.

They sold approximately a zillion of those, so parts should be cheap and easy to find.

Maybe a roof rack for the Buick? I haven't owned a truck in about 20 years. I am always doing some Sanford and Son shit to carry stuff in my wagon.BacoNoir wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:18 pmNice Terry. That Buick is a lot light to tow I bet. So this Buick is a tow-compatible car? Hey is your RV a Forester? My Mom just sold her 40ft Allegro and she wants to get something around 26'.

Re: What do you drive???
They are. I am not sure about cheap though. On this one all of the brake lines are rusted and the calipers are sticking. So I will replace them all. Then I have to weld in some new cab corners. It needs quite a bit of work but my daughter loves it due to the connection to her Papa. So that is all that matters.

Love the Sanford and Sons reference! The Buick is 4100 lbs wet weight, so just under the 4300 lb limit. Super easy to tow. It's AWD, but the 2WD one is the same - start, put in N, turn off, and pull 2 fuses in the glovebox.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 8:08 amMaybe a roof rack for the Buick? The RV is a Tiffin Wayfarer. Since she had an Allegro, she knows how well Tiffins are built and how good the factory service is. We love the Benz Sprinter Chassis - drives great, plenty of power and much more quite than the Ford versions were test drove.

Re: What do you drive???
The F150s a good pick up, Terry. Just keep an eye on the cam phasers. They love to eat them.
Seems like every time I get one of these notifications, I have three new cars. I really should stop doing that. Most recently, I bought a 2016 F2 50. Nothing special, just need more towing capacity. I still have my 40,000 mile 83 944, the 84 track car, the 33 hot rod, the lotus and 86 cj7.

Picked up an Isuzu MUX. This pic is at the end of an 80km beach run at the point the beach ends and the cliffs of the Great Australian Bight begin. Possibly as remote a place as there is in Australia.

You must think I was referring to the 65'? I am keeping that one. My neighbor actually bought the 2000 model from me.HapaHapa wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 7:29 pmYou sold the bug? WTF. Do you use a dolly to tow it?BacoNoir wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 12:48 pmLove the Sanford and Sons reference! The Buick is 4100 lbs wet weight, so just under the 4300 lb limit. Super easy to tow. It's AWD, but the 2WD one is the same - start, put in N, turn off, and pull 2 fuses in the glovebox.

Yeah Allegro was great on service. They did a ton of up keep on it over the years. Tiffin's are really nice. Her only issue with the Benz is service. She said that any dealer can service a Ford. With the Benz she said service centers are not as common. But that might be bs. I am not sure.

Re: What do you drive???
I am not looking forward to any cam phaser issues. This truck has 179k on it now. So finger crossed. I did the transmission filter/fluid today. First time it has ever been done. It was nasty as hell. I will do a few more changes in the next few months.Seth wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 1:03 pmThe F150s a good pick up, Terry. Just keep an eye on the cam phasers. They love to eat them.

Are the 944's non turbo? I have always liked them. Pretty reliable also. But that CJ is dope as hell!

No all 4 wheels on the ground. Super simple - start it, put in N, turn it off, and pull 2 fuses in the glovebox, and it’s ready to tow.toxicavenger wrote:Do you use a dolly to tow it?BacoNoir wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 12:48 pmLove the Sanford and Sons reference! 944? Had one of those in the day. Did nothing but get me in trouble...but no 20 something should probably have a car like that.Seth wrote:
