Great Canadian VW Show - Vancouver
The Great Canadian is the biggest V Dub show in Western Canada. I would have entered my 65' Sunroof Coupe but the driver's side door was at the body shop and didn't make it back in time...

Some great cars there. My family always had a VW when I was growing up. None were that nice.

Very cool. My very first car was a yellow 74 Super Beetle that my dad had bought new and given to me when I was 18. This was 1997. I need to find some pics.

Nice cars
My mom had an early 2000 Beatle in vapor color- she ended up buying the same car back last fall. But... after a lightning storm last month a tree branch fell right on it. ;(

Whole lotta nice in those pictures!

Love those photos. Thanks! VW just announced that an electric bus is set for production, but not until 2022. Can't come fast enough.

Re: Great Canadian VW Show - Vancouver
So I sent this link to my buddy who is also a watch enthusiast, but never seems to partake with the forums.
He's been a VW fan since the early/mid 90's and has had his fair share of VW's, including a plethora of buses he's fixed-up with intentions of making them full-on patina class entry examples, some that've made magazine spreads, but being the restauranteur he is in trying to expand his restaurant portfolio, he flips them like we do watches but for the profits buses have yielded over the years.
Although I don't have pics of his current bug project, it's the same color as yours (he told me the color you all can recite in your sleep but I forget), but original paint with notable patina which looks great. That's his current long-term work in progress.
He just bought another decent bug for fun in the last couple months, fixed what needed fixing and sold it for cost to a mutual pal who partook in the overnight marathon mechanics.
One of his restaurants is a gourmet hotdog joint here in El Dorado Hills and he uses a fully functional (per local health code) bus for his off-site catering. Full Grill, bun warmer, hand washing sink, hot water, etc. All work done by him.
I showed him these pics and he said in regard to the bug with grown in tree trunks... "That's the best bumper I've ever seen! "
EDIT: Got some better pics from him (still not a member ) of the cater-bus and his latest project:

My mom had a minty '56, mechanical brakes, trafficators and all that. After she died, my stepfather held on to it for quite a while, then sold it to a collector and bought himself a Mercedes. Prick. When I finally got to see her will, turns out it was supposed to go to me.

If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.
