Interesting but probably only good for areas with minimal tide changes. We have 9 foot tide changes here and the breaks move up and down (and in and away from) the beach as the tides change.

That said, I hate paddling through the surf back out past a beach break. Having a floating pier to walk up would be a dream for my aching shoulders!
