Re: Movie suggestions!!
Speaking of submarine movies, U-571 is probably one of the best I've seen, and especially so if you have a good surround system. Literally had my walls shaking in the depth charge scenes.
I realize it's been out a long time, but it's worth watching.

Another great old movie that has incredible surround effects is Mel Gibson’s ‘we were soldiers’

Have to confess I’ve never watched an Austin Powers flick. I’ve got Goldmember on now. Fook Me and Fook Yu? Golden tally wackers ? Holy schmoly I’m in! Fantastically stupid and crude but hey you only live once.

Mike Myers is one funny Canadian!!

Having now finished True Detective Season 3, I have to say it was one of the best tv programs I've watched in a long time. Great story that unfolded slowly, but never felt like it was dragging. Terrific cast. Mahershala Ali was great, but I thought the real revelation was Stephen Dorff - he was just outstanding.

I need to finish TD3. I’ve only watched about half the season. I started too many shows at once.JBZ wrote:Having now finished True Detective Season 3, I have to say it was one of the best tv programs I've watched in a long time. Green Book...Very deserving BP winner.
Re: Movie suggestions!!
Started watching After Life on Netflix and am liking it.

Pretty much my exact feelings as well. I had higher expectations. Cast was great, though.JBZ wrote:I watched it. I thought it was good, but not great. I was expecting more given the director, who also directed Margin Call and All is Lost. That said, it was a decent heist/adventure movie with a good cast.

Saw the Ballad of Buster Scruggs. It was okay but not great.
Re: Movie suggestions!!
I had to Google the movie AFTER I had watched it to figure out what I had just seen...
I think I liked it, not quite sure...

We liked it, too. For sure, worth a watch.Chocodove wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 6:19 amPretty much my exact feelings as well. I had higher expectations. Cast was great, though.JBZ wrote:I watched it. I watched The Highwaymen on Netflix this weekend. It's a take on Bonnie and Clyde told from the perspective of the Texas Rangers who tracked them down and ultimately killed them. It was solid, if not spectacular. Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson are getting old.

Currently watching Formula 1: Drive to Survive on Netflix, it's very good if you're into Formula 1, which I am.
On Saturday night (forced by the wife) I endured a Dwayne Johnson double of Rampage followed by Skyscraper. Don't just don't.
