Re: Movie suggestions!!
Finished the three episode Netflix Dracula series. Excellent.
Altered Carbon has a season 2 coming at end of February. Looking forward to that.

I liked the first season of that, and can't wait for season 2. I just finished the latest season of The Ranch on netflix. It really hasn't been that good since Danny was fired.

Just watched "The Kid"; bit slow at times but a different take on the Pat Garret (only had his badge for 2 weeks), Billy the Kid, and Rio (not certain if he as a well known guy, but then again, what do I know! ... ). Good flick!

Just finished watching the complete GoT series over the last month for the first time.
It was really good, but the ending really sucked.

Imagine how you’d feel if you had spent 8 years watching it.59yukon01 wrote:Just finished watching the complete GoT series over the last month for the first time.

1917 is not the typical war movie; well filmed, good story - I really enjoyed it.

Re: Movie suggestions!!
No doubt. It was great getting in an episode or 2 each day. I couldn't imagine having to wait a week for the next episode, or even a year for the next season.CGSshorty wrote:Imagine how you’d feel if you had spent 8 years watching it.59yukon01 wrote:Just finished watching the complete GoT series over the last month for the first time.

However, probably why I feel like something is missing or isn't right today. Just a very unsatisfying and anticlimactic ending.

Yeah it's like they wanted to change direction but got lost. Was a decent comedy early on, now just sad.unsub073 wrote:I liked the first season of that, and can't wait for season 2. I just finished the latest season of The Ranch on netflix. It really hasn't been that good since Danny was fired.

The only thing that kept me going was Sam Elliot. He is awesome.jeckyll wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2020 10:04 amYeah it's like they wanted to change direction but got lost. Re: Movie suggestions!!
Thanks guys. Look forward to seeing it. That one and Jojo Rabbit we missed this year.
Re: Movie suggestions!!
Finally watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I enjoyed it, and Brad Pitt was really good, but I wouldn't rank it as one of Tarantino's best.

Re: Movie suggestions!!
I watched "Parasite" over the weekend and was completely blown away. That movie goes from tragedy to comedy to Alfred Hitchcock to horror on a dime. One of the most inventive and suspenseful movies I have seen in a long, long time.
I think Oscar got it right for once. I also loved "Once Upon a Time In Hollywood" , but . . . I've been to TanantinoLand before.
"Parasite" was completely different.

Just watched Joker----Phoenix was excellent but lot's of disturbing parts...Made me think about the whole Bruce Wayne character and relationship to his father and the Joker..
Also thought Brad Pitt was excellent in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood...
Have to see Parasite...

Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan
About ANZACS in the Vietnam War
Based on a true event
Late afternoon August 18, 1966 South Vietnam – for three and a half hours, in the pouring rain, amid the mud and shattered trees of a rubber plantation called Long Tan, Major Harry Smith (Travis Fimmel) and his dispersed company of 108 young and mostly inexperienced Australian and New Zealand soldiers are fighting for their lives, holding off an overwhelming force of 2,000 battle-hardened Viet Cong and North Vietnamese soldiers. With their ammunition running out, their casualties mounting and the enemy massing for a final assault each man begins to search for his own answer, and the strength to triumph over an uncertain future with honour, decency and courage.
The Battle of Long Tan is one of the most savage and decisive engagements in ANZAC history, earning both the United States and South Vietnamese Presidential Unit citations for gallantry along with many individual awards.
