Anyone watched "The Meg"? If you did, worth watching?
I took my kids to see it this summer. It's exactly what you think it's going to be. Not horrible, but not a hidden gem, either.

I hope you like it better than I did. My wife is a marine biologist (does research on sharks/rays/sawfish), so I've seen almost every bad shark movie out there, and I thought this was one of them. She loved it though.

So far, so good. Great movie to kill sometime, kind of sorta like Armageddon, the original Jurassic Park, and Tremors!

I might be wrong, but I can see why she loved this one. She's gotta be thinking, too bad this is fiction, cause they've got a cool research lab, subs, and some really great gear in this movie! ...

One thing I did learn I guess, is I'm not a true DWC'er, cause although I'm not done watching the movie. Lots of cool watches, and, .... I don't know what they are.

Mission: Impossible-Fallout

Regardless your thoughts on Cruise, he nails this franchise and his stunts are amazing. Rotten has it at 97% and I agree. Watched it on Blu-ray, but this is one that would shine in 4K.

Just finished the "last" season of House of Cards, and the ending sucked.

Watched Legend (the Tom Hardy Kray brothers movie) over the weekend. Tom Hardy is very good. The movie itself is just okay.

I recently got a 65" LG OLED tv and saw this movie was on VUDU 4k HDR. I'm definitely watching it this weekend..

Enjoy that LG. I've had the B6 55 for a while now and I still marvel at the PQ. I'm sure you have, but research the settings. Cut off all that TruMotion crap, etc. and make sure you're getting HDR properly.

Binged The Bodyguard during the last two days. I really liked it. Not too long which was kind of refreshing.

Just watched Black Mirror's Bandersnatch on Netflix. It's an interactive movie...kind of trippy! :fro:

Took my kid to see Soiderman Into the Spiderverse yesterday. It was surprisingly good. The animation style is fresh and very different from what you typically get from Pixar or DreamWorks

Movie suggestions!!

Post by HapaHapa » Sun Dec 30, 2018 12:57 pm

Saw Aquaman yesterday. Pretty good for a superhero movie. I’d rate it below Wonder Woman and first Guardians of the Galaxy. Maybe on par with Guardians 2.

Spider-Man Verse seems to be on the docket as next, although I’d rather see Bumblebee.

Marvel Avengers was on the TV at the Mexican restaurant last night. Golly I really dislike that Thanos character.

Finally watching Bodyguard on Netflix.

May not be The Red Wedding, but Robb Stark’s got some serious problems.

I thought it was a kinda a let down compared to the first one. I do like how they set it up for a 3rd one though.

It certainly wasn’t as good as the first, but that’s a pretty high bar.

I taped Isle of Dogs and want to watch it, but the dog goes crazy whenever there are dogs on screen.

My daughter played me for the sucker I am and got me to take her to see Mary Poppins Returns yesterday. I went into it wishing for a quick and painless death, but it wasn't as bad as i had anticipated. Lin Manuel Miranda is a talented MF-er and Emily Blunt is not too hard on the eyes. I've never seen the original so I can't compare the two, but Dick Van Dyke had a cameo (Angela Lansbury, too) and I can't help but think he'd decline the role if this didn't live up to the original
