Re: Movie suggestions!!
Aquaman - disliked it a lot.
Justice League - Thought the flash made the movie! (Yes I know I’m late but after years of refusing to watch superhero movies I’m coming around, mainly due to Thor Ragnarok)
Venom - Entertaining enough
Miss Sloane - very very good
Once upon a Dead Pool - didn’t realize it was Deadpool 2 minus profanities and plus Fred Savage but I didn’t mind seeing it a second time.

Re: Movie suggestions!!
My wife enjoyed it, but said the original was better . Also said that Lin Manuel's acting was great.four20 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 8:27 amMy daughter played me for the sucker I am and got me to take her to see Mary Poppins Returns yesterday. I went into it wishing for a quick and painless death, but it wasn't as bad as i had anticipated. Lin Manuel Miranda is a talented MF-er and Emily Blunt is not too hard on the eyes. I've never seen the original so I can't compare the two, but Dick Van Dyke had a cameo (Angela Lansbury, too) and I can't help but think he'd decline the role if this didn't live up to the original

Aquaman - not as good as Wonder Woman, but better than all the other DC movies (Justice League related).
Spiderman - Into the Spider verse - Went with my boy, turn out way better than I anticipated.

The Favourite. The acting was good. The story was not.

Might be late to the table with this one, but the Netflix movie "Bright" was a fun movie. It's likeTraining Day meets D&D

Re watching The Expanse on Amazon...again. LOL I just finished reading the 7th book. Still catching details from the books I missed the other times I've watched. Highly recommended!

Saw Vice this weekend. It was really good.
Re: Movie suggestions!!
I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet, but I just re-watched The Death of Stalin this weekend. Terrific political satire from Armando Iannucci (the creator of Veep and In the Loop). May be the best movie I saw last year.
Re: Movie suggestions!!
Thanks for the heads up. I started watching again.. in between episodes on The Orvillehobbit712 wrote:Re watching The Expanse on Amazon...again. LOL I just finished reading the 7th book. Still catching details from the books I missed the other times I've watched. Highly recommended!
My gf had never seen Grosse Pointe Blank so we called it up on Prime Video last night. Always worth a re-watch

Just saw “They Shall Not Grow Old”. Great movie documentary about WWI. Narrated by WWI survivors. This is told from the British side. Old recordings from interviews from the 60’s were used to tell the story. Old video was remastered and put together. Directed and created by Peter Jackson. It was a really good movie.

Re: Movie suggestions!!
I'm watching Informer on Amazon Prime. BBC series and only 6 episodes. Starring Paddy Considine and a bunch of British actors I've never heard of. Pretty good series.
Also just finished up Barry since it got a ton of buzz last year. It was okay, but nothing spectacular IMHO.

I really liked Altered Carbon. It took a couple of episodes to get me, but I was hooked once it did. I am hoping they get a 2nd season out of it.Joeprez wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 1:54 pmI did that this year. Re: Movie suggestions!!
Netflix ordered another one, but we wont see the principal actor (Riker's sleeve) in season 2. Apparently it will be the actor that portrait Tak in his real sleeve.

Punisher season 2 was pretty good. Netflix/Marvel really screwed the pooch by canceling all these shows.

Finished this morning and it was great. Netflix didn’t want to cancel anything, the contract was finished. Marvel will be taking over the characters and putting them on the Disney streaming service once it’s launches. Who knows if it will be the same actors and it will be at least 2 years of a wait.CGSshorty wrote:Punisher season 2 was pretty good. Re: Movie suggestions!!
Watched Netflix movie "Extinction" the other day. Pretty good with a twist you dont really see coming.
Also been binging the "The Last Kingdom." I like it a lot...especially the historical aspects. Takes place in the same era as "Vikings."
