RIP Nicky Hayden

Very saddened by this. My favorite racer. I saw him at Daytona years ago when he was running AMA Superbike.

Very ironic. Crashed on a bicycle and dies.

By all accounts one if the genuinely nice guys in the paddock.
I had hoped to see him excel when he went to Wsbk and take the fight to the Kawis...

Such a shame.

Damn. I saw him race in Indianapolis GP in 2010. My wife and I watched Peter Lenz die that day. It'll be burned in my brain forever.

Very sad news. He was a legend. At least he died doing something he enjoyed.

I was bummed when I first heard some details of the accident. It didn't sound like it would have a good outcome. I'm glad he was able to go peacefully and it wasn't drawn out. He will truly be missed. Was a fun racer on the track and a great human off the track. RIP

There is a nice writeup by Julian Ryder on superbikeplanet.com. Some of his favorite memories of Nicky.
