Some models were sold under GM subsidiaries -- as seen in Transformers 2; there was an AStra GTC in it.. (the one that got carried away with grappling hook on the helicopter)

I was wondering why are you so scarce on the forum!
I love the new astra; great looking car, one of the best designs in its class and I loved the old GTC! 1.7 CDTI uses barely 4 liters of diesel! My top speed in it (chipped to 125 HP) was 205 km/h!

Opel hasn't been available here since the late 70's. A shame they have some nice cars.

Re: is opel for sale in the usa?
If you look at the GM model's in the US some of those are the Opel/Vauxhall models that are sold in Europe.
Opel/Vauxhall Vectra = Saturn Aura (Malibu is based on this as well)
Vauxhall/Holden Monaro = Pontiac GTO
Opel/Vauxhall Astra = Saturn Astra
Opel Antara = Saturn Vue
Opel GT = Saturn Sky
Vauxhall/Holden Commodore = Pontiac G8
So effectively Opel models are sold here under American GM brands and so are Australian Holden models as well, used to be sold until Pontiac and Saturn closed shop. All of these brands are/were owned by GM thus cross platforming is to be expected. The Vectra is still around though in the Malibu and its a pretty good chance we'll see the Holden Commodore return rebranded as something as well. Although the G8 was probably the hardest to see die, since it was the best 4 door in the non-premium market.
