Yes...it can sneak up right on you here in Cleveland. As much as 8 inch's in October and 2 inch's in May.

Still surprised you sold the G8.

Last year on recommendation form the tire guy I bought set of Kumho I'zen for my Infiniti and they have been terrific.

When I had winters I ran Kumhos. Now Michelle runs them for her winters as well. Especially around here, you need a winter that wont' wear out if you do mostly pavement driving, they've been great over the last few years.

Firestone winterforce is a great option to blizzaks price wise. I used Continental ExtremeWinterContact a while back and they were great, longevity not so great.

Terry: That's the thing, it's hard to make a winter tire that sticks _and_ lasts :)

Nick: I just checked and dont' think Kumho makes the tires we run any more. (KW 17)

I saw a Nissan Maxima with a full set of Blizzaks the other day. The car had Florida plates and the tires were so bald they looked like racing slicks. I'm shocked the old bat driving it hasn't rear ended someone yet.

Sold your G8? I still kick myself for not buying a G8.

Isn't parts availability a pain with those cars?

Here it really sucks because we have such much sunshine that snow rarely stays around long. So the snow tires only get used periodically but are needed when the time comes.

I think I am going to try the Hankooks next year

I've been running 16" Michelin X-Ices on my GTI. They're great.

I remetber the snow tires from dad's 72 Chevy Malibu (350 V8). They were knobby and looked tough.
