I guess the past 50 years of motorsport history still haven't taught the fancy boys in Maranello much.

"Immediate, predictable response is a requirement in any driver's car. " Good turbo cars are very predictable, but I can see how they'd be problematic for the kind of yuppies who drive Ferrari's (see Ferrari Challenge for details https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=by7wraE8eug).

A properly sized turbo on a decent displacement engine is practically linear in throttle response. A huge turbo on a small displacement engine is going to be lethargic at low RPMs, unless there's some computer controlled trickery.

You do have a point. The new California T sounds a bit too muted to me though. The F40 for sure sounds amazing. The regular California didn't wow me either though. I mean it was great driving a Ferrari, but it was hard to follow up just sitting in and revving the 458 Italia.

I don't have car money, or even garage space for anything fun -my "fun car" is sitting in storage in California - so I'm totally out of the car loop.

I don't technically even have a fun car by those standards anymore. When we have toy money many years down the road, my wife wants an XJS convertible and I've been thinking about an older 911. LWB Jaguar probably doesn't scream car guy like the rest of the vehicles I've owned, but I have always loved the round headlamp XJs and I had to have one.

288GTO would be the only Ferrari I wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen in built since 1965.

Adding a second turbo seems to have some positive effects too;)

If everything else is equal, I'd much rather have a naturally aspirated car. I love turbos and S/C don't get me wrong but there is a beautiful responsive amazingness to a high revving NA engine singing at high RPMs.

I don't have a problem with electric cars for a daily driver once the support is there. I honestly love the Tesla Model S.
