Favorite James Bond Movie

Post by ezcheese » Thu Nov 13, 2014 6:25 am

Yanno spike tv is always showing old Bond movies and I caught You Only Live Twice a couple of weeks ago. That may be my favorite one.

Nobody does misogynistic Bond like Connery :smack:

I also really like Skyfall.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ahhh this is nice!

A lot of people will tell you that Goldfinger is the best... and it is a great answer to your question. Great movie.

It may be because it was one of the first James Bond movies I saw, but I really like "The Living Daylights" - Timothy Dalton (not the greatest Bond, but the movie is great). Great story, the car chase scene is one of the best:

I also like (one per actor):

From Russia with Love - Sean Connery
The World is not Enough - Pierce Brosnan
Skyfall - Daniel Craig

You will note that there are no Roger Moore movies mentioned in the post. Its on purpose.

When I was a kid, I really liked Thunderball because it had sharks and the really cool underwater fight scene at the end.

When I was a little older, I liked For Your Eyes Only, because IMHO Carole Bouquet was the hottest Bond girl ever.

Now I think it's Casino Royale - I really like what they've done to update the series to be more contemporary. While I like the older Bond films, most of them don't hold up particularly well.

From Russia With Love is my favorite of the first few good ones but the new Craig films revitalized a failed series. It's bookended now.

To add to this, I really hated the direction the films took under Pierce Brosnan (who could have been an excellent Bond). Way too many gadgets like that stupid invisible car.

Really like From Russia with Love, Goldfinger and Live and Let Die...
But then again, I can watch them all-- up to For Your Eyes Only...

Don't care so much for any of the Pierce Brosnan movies but liked the Daniel Craig ones..

Oh no, another James Bond thread. These never end well.....

Anyone who answers anything but Skyfall is wrong..... :smack:

Really, it's easier for me to name the sucky ones.
I definitely enjoy the Timothy Daulton movies. He was a bit before his time with how gritty he was. I can't stand any of the Brosnan 007's except for Goldeneye. Excellent movie.

I've only seen a few of the post -1985 movies and I didn't like any of them. I don't care for Daniel "guns are bad, I can't drive a stick shift" Craig, but casino royal was a genuinely good movie, even with him in it. The realism of him killing that guy in the bathroom at the start was a great way to say "there's no laser sharks in this 007".

Anyone who hasn't picked up the Bond box set really needs to ASAP. It's awesome.

Casino Royale
"30ish years of martial arts and I've actually had the honor of training lots of LEO, spec ops and even SEAL team 6 on base, fitness training, not martial arts, but still the coolest thing I've done.

Full on egg head corporate job and I fly quite a bit so I'm really looking forward to adding to my collection of TSA friendly self defense tools. I have amcouple tactical pens, but I want to up the game and get into some custom stuff. Been watch obsessed for a while but this seems more fun.

Thanks for letting me play! "

The ones with Sean Connery and Daniel Craig.

I would say you can flush the others, if it weren't for the Bond girls. ;)

I really liked Skyfall in the theater but it isn't very re-watchable imo. I've tried multiple times to sit through it again and always get up.
