Oh and then some photos from American Cars Meeting in Istria few weeks back :)
I know you guys find US cars normal to see but we like these gas guzzlers over here.
Still waiting for some detailed photos to arrive.

And I was sticked to this beetle all the time. I have an original 1970 cabriolet beetle myself; in restoration process for some time now. But this.. das ist übercool.

A VW gathering without one Bug or even a Type 2. What about a Thing or a Ghia? Blasphemy

Thanks for sharing. I have a love/ hate relationship with VW. My dad and I built a 74 Super Beetle rag top when I was a kid and I LOVED that car... but was too petulant to keep it and bought the FJ40. My wife had a 99 Jetta that was ok, but the dealer soured the experience... we sold the car on 04 when we left San Diego.

But... we just bought a 2010 Passat with the 2.0T. She didn't like the CC, so Passat it was. Nice thus far.... with 1200mi on the odometer.

Great pictures, thanks for posting them. I never really understood the Euro look with the extreme low stance and stretched tires, but there are some nice cars there. I sold my VW R32 in January and I have missed it every day since.

Nope, before I was laid off a 17 months ago, I had several years at I gigs where I could usually walk to work, like our XC90 parked next to the VW... '05 with 18,000. She mostly walks, too.
Now I drive about 6 miles a day to workout/play tennis. We use the Volvo for weekends.

You have to see the VW GOLF II (rabbit 2?) who put the interior from GOLF MK 5 inside!!! CRAZY!
Wait.. gonna find some photos.. BTW there's also a TFSI (mark 5) engine inside of it!!!

Golf 2 TFSI

It took him 3 years to do the swap. At least 90% of parts is FACTORY NEW.
Car seems as it came straight out of the factory that way. INSANE. It was the best VW swap in history of mankind.
