Shakira is actually a genius when you consider this is what she used to sound like:



She had a pretty typical early 90s alt-rock sound.....

Then she had someone write her vocals in English, she changed her look, and she basically sold out....and in the process she made millions. As far as business ventures go, she is a business genius who capitalized on the American mainstream music marketing machine.

I don't disagree that her music sucks, but I don't doubt that she has some musical integrity behind the wealth and image. But I guess it doesn't matter because she is richer than I'll ever be.
