Re: Twin turbo Lambo
I lived in San Diego from 01 - 04. With the economy still skooting along in CA at the time, people were still spending silly money.
My commute took me from Encinitas to Huntington Beach --- straight up the 5 through Pendleton. For the uninitiated, Camp Pendleton is 25 miles of ocean front training grounds for the military and it has a freeway running right up the side of it. Since its all post, there are no on or off ramps for about 20 miles and its pretty much dead straight.
Get the picture?
I drove a Super Duty pickup which was governed at 96mph. On the way to work I would set the cruise at 95 as soon as I hit Pendleton. And then the race started. That noise... that Lambo noise, is pretty damn unreal when it blows by you like 95 isn't moving. I need more fingers, toes and hair to count all the times that something seriously exotic blew my doors off on that stretch of freeway. The Lambos were always the best. They were always some horrible color and in the rearview mirror, its always the same thought -- 'what the -F is that?' By the time you're done thinking its gone past.
Awesome clip. The turbo whine is spectacular.
