Need help with a nagging IE8 problem...

Post by pacifichrono » Thu May 19, 2011 7:31 am

When clicking on a link that opens a new window, for some reason the size and position of the new window is extremely narrow and over on the right edge of the screen.

In my past experience, if I wanted to "reset" the size/position of a new window I would:
...1) Open a new window.
...2) Use the cursor to resize and reposition the new window.
...3) Maximize the new window.
...4) Restore (or "un-maximize") the new window.
...5) Done - - any new windows I open in the future are sized and positioned as I had just set.

Unfortunately, this procedure is not working for me, even after rebooting and retrying.
:scream:

What am I missing?

From Microsoft Answers Forum:

1. Open a Window and make it the size you want.

2. Open a 2nd Window and make it the same size.

3. Bring the 1st Window to the front, hold CTRL and click the red X in the top right hand corner.

4. Close the 2nd Window in the same way using CTRL

It's rapidly going down though, I remember a few years ago when firefox was first becoming popular IE had about 70% of the market share.

I just recently switched to Chrome. My ancient POS computer is much happier now.
