Re: Like Muscle?
I have nothing to brag about
But my father was a proud owner of an 1948 Buick Roadmaster Convertible back when I was born (have you seen "The Rain Man" btw?). I have to scan the photo I have of it. Still, it's not a muscle car but Inline 8 Speedball is worth mentioning.

Re: Like Muscle?
Joe you dont have muscle? How about that brabus tuned V-dozen sitting in your garage? i think that should count!
Nice Nova and WELCOME TO DWC!
My buddy in high school (way back in 2002 ) has a 70 Nova, painted primer grey. Was the coolest car ive ever seen at the time, they still have a soft spot in my heart. A 70 Nova is what id look for if buying a muscle car. Just need to stop by a hardware store for some primer grey!
did the 70 have an option of a center console for the automatic version? if not then my buddy's high school car wasnt a 70. any idea what year?

Re: Like Muscle?
It's not exactly a muscle car, but I would say it's above average. 4.2L V8 - about 350HP. It makes the one hour commute to the office enjoyable...

Dom, that's something different I'm afraid I don't consider it a muscle car; we all know what a true muscle car is and where the definition came from. So I just stick to that. There are 2 schools here in Europe; one that says true muscle cars are nowadays ///M5's, AMG's, Brabuses ( ) and other supersports and there's another (purists) school of thinking about only american V8's being thoroughbred muscle cars. I like this second view.
My all time favorites:
And the contemporary muscle I realllllllly dig:
The only European Muscle car I accept:
TVR Sagaris
Inline 6, 4.0L (almost like my YJ ) and 400 n/a HP.
NO antilock brakes, NO power steering, NO airbags.

Re: Like Muscle?
What I used to have:
1966 Big Block
1971 LT1
[This is actually a pic of a big block, but this is the same color as mine was: Warrior Yellow. I could have picked up a numbers matching big block, same color as my LT1 along with documentation showing it was custom built for the Head of Pontiac...just couldn't scratch up the cash back then. That would have made a nice stable. Two Warrior Yellow Stingrays...an LT1 and a 454...NICE! ]
1978 L82 Silver Anniversary
[Mine had an 8-Track player in it and white leather...sweet! All I needed was a Miami Vice suit ]
1955 Chevy 210 Wagon
All gone...haven't owned a V-8 in over 12 years.
NOW???
I am empty-handed when it comes to V-8 Muscle, but there is hope...

Re: Like Muscle?
The '66 was a nice car but...
...you couldn't drive it every day.
...you couldn't safely park it anywhere.
...it was more of an investment.
The '72 LT1 was also a good investment, but I drove it WAY TOO MUCH...it was too much fun, AND I racked up a lot of attention in it...especially from the Po-Po. I lost money on the '78, but it was a good running car. The L82 was nice motor!!! I eventually spun it out on a bridge in the rain. The damage wasn't too bad, but I stuck with my Jeep after that.
I also had a 1957, but I never even drove that car. I bought it & sold it.
I'm not much of a watch flipper, but I used to flip a lot of cars.

This used to be my baby, before I had my son, 03 Z06, 6-Speed, 405 hp, this car would light the rear tires up at 60 mph. I've had quite a few other since then, mostly 4 seaters, WS6 Ram Air, SS Camaro and a few others. Now it seems I have been driving pick-ups the last few I've bought.

It was an investment. I bought it to restore it & flip it. Other than when I bought it and a couple times I visited the guy doing the work, the car was never closer than about 1500 miles away.Diaboliq wrote:hazmatman wrote: I also had a 1957, but I never even drove that car. I bought it & sold it.

Re: Like Muscle?
I had a '71 Mach I. Absolutely killer. It was really too big for me, used to get tickets all the time.
I sold it when I moved into the Big Apple. Big Mistake.
The next year I saw one at a car show going for nice money.
This is not mine, but is just like it. MIne had a black interior.

One of the ugliest mustangs (apart from '80s models) but a killer nevertheless.
Boss engine was a killer.

Nice one Doc!!! My barracks mate at my first duty station had the same ride in Ford Blue.
As you said, a big ol' beast of a car. You could land planes on that hood!!!

Thanks.
I don't remember being able to see anything out the back.
And I think I got a ticket the first day I had it. Yep, the local law just loved this car.

Very Nice! I had one just like it back in 1970, only mine was Gold. I traded it for
a 67 Vette 427/435..........really wish I hadn't.
Yours is a Beauty.

I havn't had a V8 since since around 1980....Never thought that would ever happen.
