Bye bye Juice

The end to a very strange chapter of USA history. The O.J. has passed on. No more Juice.

This is really in bad taste I know, but about an hour ago I was finishing breakfast and knocked my glass of OJ on the floor and made a huge mess, and about 5 minutes ago I read that OJ Simpson had passed.
Weirdly symbolic.

Just be wary if OJ is offered as a drink at the wake

Everyone in America, including OJ, is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. History tells us he wasn't proven guilty in the criminal case. However, he did break the law in Vegas attempting to retrieve his property, which he was punished for.

That trial was a sham. Wasn’t he also convicted in a civil trial regarding the murders though?

Yes, he was found liable for the murders in a civil proceeding.

The jurors admitted back in the day, and even recently it didn’t matter to them that he was guilty, finding him not guilty was partly in response to the Rodney King situation. There was commentary, then and recently that “people of color” shouldn’t be held responsible for crimes as some sort of way to make up for the sins of slavery.

From the minds of idiots.

Well, neither I nor any of the law-enforcement officers that I’ve known have felt that way. That is a narrative that has been used to excuse bad behavior.

I don’t dispute that discrimination has been a major factor in the nation’s history, but it isn’t a good reason to allow crime today.

Funny, I remember that day so clearly. I took my dad up to a Jeep Jamboree on Drummond Island up in the UP that weekend. After a day of four wheeling we got back to the room…they gave us the bridal suite lol…and I come out of the shower and dad is watching the tv with this white bronco tooling along the highway. “I think that’s OJ!” He says. Miss dad, not OJ.

I remember that day very clearly.

I was 10 and we were on family vacation in Florida. Me and my brother were flipping through the tv waiting for my parents so we could go to dinner. And there it was, the white bronco highway chase. Pretty cool to see. I didn’t know who OJ was at the time- thanks for the memories Image

Nothing in my comment indicated LEO felt that way.
