Nice shots Image
How painful was the bracelet to size ?
Pins or pins and collar(s)?
Thera are pins. It was easy. There is an arrow on the back of each link marking the direction of push. I used very cheap screw-in pin remover with bracelet holder.

Yes, fantastic pics indeed. They make me look at mine and say “you’re handsome, but not as handsome”

Mine just landed. Extremely impressed and clearly the best under $500 watch I’ve owned. They could charge $750 and sell these all day long IMO. Looks every bit as nice as in Ripper’s pics.

Having two CWC I can honestly say it’s very close. No serial numbers on the Mecaquartz model, but smooth crown, good looking dial & handset, and a truly outstanding bezel with zero play and firm, precise clicks. Alignment is prefect. Why can’t Seiko manage this?

The supplied tropic style rubber strap is barely long enough for my wrist, but I think I’ll try something else.

Initially I figured this to be a quick flip, but I think it’ll stay. The dial & hands are more Heuer and less CWC, so it can work. The sweeping Seiko seconds hand is cool, so two-year battery changes will happen. No biggie.

If you’re on the fence - and provided mine isn’t a rare example - I suggest you jump in on this one.

F’n enabler. They are out of the strap version, so I had to spring a few extra bucks for the bracelet.

Better photos.

Remember when the Dreadnought, then later the Korsbek divers came out and were affordable watches, with solid build quality? This is like that. Sure, it’s the well known Monnin case shape, but man if it’s not an absolute steal at these prices.

It’s really great value for money, I’m really liking it.
Thought I was gonna flip it immediately but it may stick for a while for sure

I needed a longer strap, since the stock “faux tropic” looks to be 70/125.

I prefer the original / reissue genuine Tropic and had one in 22mm. Every one of these I’ve owned has seemed to be .5-1.0 mm less than specs suggest, leaving a little gap and movement between strap and case. The 20’s I’ve owned seemed 19mm and this 22, when tried on my 22 watches, seems 21mm.

That said, I used some longer & stronger bars and put in on this HGP. The real Tropic is so squishy it’s an easy fit. A bit bunched up at the lug, but seems better balanced with the relatively wide case. Works for me.

Nice pic! I hadn’t noticed the difference in the seconds hands until this side-by-side comparison. It looks like I got my order for the quartz version in just in time; sold out now.

Thanks !

Both are great. Especially for the price point.

They are now making these with a blue bezel, and they look awesome.
Too bad I already own one, but seriously considering buying another.

these are the deal of the year, other than Scurfa

the NSA rice bracelet is one of the nicer features, well constructed and very comfortable… haven’t wanted to take mine off yet

I just bought it to compare it with the black I already have.
I will only keep one, if you’re not in a hurry you can wait till I get it and in case I keep the black… you’d get a new one a few $$ off

They keep killing it, now some GMTs
https://www.hgp-watches.com/collections ... -automatic

Very nice, I would have loved it and bought it if they had used the new Miyota “real GMT” movement, but it would probably have cost a fair bit more I guess?
I think in general H.G.P. could charge more for their pieces (assuming they keep the finishing/assembly quality the same as my Mecha-Quartz)
