Synchron for me as well today! Very cool vintage feel and I love the bezel (similar feel to my vintage Ploprof bezel). Wish it was a bit thinner, but it wears well on my Chaffle strap and with a a ton of vintage style 20mm straps in the box I am looking forward to trying it out to find the perfect strap!

Switch up. Kind of cool to own a watch that was in the book Military Timepieces of my favorite books on US military timepieces.

Has a interesting protection for the crystal called a shrapnel guard to protect the crystal when crawling through the trenches in WW1.

Today's drama:

I screwed up (nothing new).

Been wearing the watch exclusively on this strap.

Image

I decided to try some other straps and "struggled" to remove the spring bars...

and ruined the strap in the process.

Image

The spring bars were NOT the OEM spring bars that came with the watch.

The original spring bars are in the Isofrane that came with the watch.

I grabbed a different pair not realizing they were shoulder-less.

Smarter people would have stopped hacking at things with the spring bar tool and moved on to Plan B.

Oh well, replacement strap ordered and spring bars removed with the Dremel.

Military now on one of Stewart's straps.

WRUW 15 April 21

Post by Blaine » Thu Apr 15, 2021 5:40 pm

Well down to this as my daily wear. Need to part with my Seiko 777. I thought that would be my “go to” weekender/beater...but why night have just one go to everyday...this is the most versatile watch I have owned and I have had the pleasure of owning many incredible examples over the years. My son is coming home in a couple months and passing on my Explorer II Polar to him. We will have somewhat matching classic time pieces. Hope to get some travels in with him too soon. Had a lot of fun doing this hobby...now time to move on....no pun intended.
