Supposed new Rolex line up...
Supposed new Rolex line up...
https://www.rolex.com
Above is the link I pinched from TRF, nuthin real exciting.
Explorer 1`s back to 36mm (pre owned 39mm model has now jumped $2K)
GMT II Pepsi now comes on a oyster bracelet, looks great but it'll be next to unobtanium here in Australia...
New movement in the Exp II, no external changes.
I'm sure there is more stuff to add, but I'm being lazy because I'm only mildly interested... J

Amazingly, they actually lowered the price on the E1 (I think).

Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...
They’re also releasing a TT model, which is surprising given that it’s the explorer. But it doesn’t look half bad from the pics I’ve seen.
I’m not sure what to make of the “new” Exp II. Nice to have a new movement, but other than that it’s the same watch (Hodinkee speculates that the lugs may be slimmer from pics, but Rolex hasn’t confirmed). Maybe it’s good to have one offering that isn’t changed too radically.

I just don’t get it... Maybe when I move to Florida and start wearing tall black nylon socks with sandals

Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...
No. I don't think Shorty would wear that either.
Serious question. Is this the only TT no-date watch in a DJ'ish case? If so, I can sort of understand it. The real mystery is when will the TT Explorer 2 come out? Rolex has now TT'd the SD and the Explorer 1. The Explorer 2 is next.
Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...
I don’t know the answer but GDI even the hands and hour markers/numerals are yellow...JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 7:14 amNo. I don't think Shorty would wear that either.

Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...
I guess TT must be desirable given how many companies are adding one or more to their lineup (or expanding them). I actually think this one looks okay for a TT, but I have no interest in general. I wonder if they're thinking this will be more appealing to women given the size. Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...
As I mentioned in another thread, new Exp II has some subtle changes. Black dial hands are now all SS instead of partially blacked out. White dial markers and hands are now matte black instead of gloss. Case shape looks a little slimmer and dial looks a little smaller, but hard to tell on that to a certainty.

It wouldn't be my first, or even third, Rolex but if it's my eight? Sure, why not.

I'd never go TT on a DJ, but I've always loved these

I've always found the root beer GMT appealing. Maybe because Clint Eastwood used to wear one, but I think the color scheme is pretty nice.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:09 amI might be getting old, but I like thisJBZ wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:06 amI guess TT must be desirable given how many companies are adding one or more to their lineup (or expanding them). I wish Rolex would release an updated oysterquartz type case. I really like those.
Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...
Minor update for 2021 is that Pepsi is going to be available with PCL Oyster as well as Jubilee.

Good news is that you can now order the bracelet separately if you didn't like Jubilee. I don't wear either so no biggieJP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:42 am"available"
Apparently all this shithead gray dealers bought up all the PT and YG/Green Daytonas in hopes that they would be discontinued and they weren't.

Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...
You should try it, it'll probably fit but sometimes there are weird gaps, even putting SubC bracelet on Pepsi.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:53 amI wonder if the new jubilee would fit my five digit GMT2?Panerai7 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:50 amGood news is that you can now order the bracelet separately if you didn't like Jubilee. I think I had, but then forgot about it. The 38mm has some decent options.sierra11b wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 4:06 pmHave you seen the Tudor royal?
