Very interesting. Can't wait to see them both side by side.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:07 amInteresting observation that the dial might be smaller. I would have called BS on it, but the Explorer 2 now shares a movement with the GMT2 so it might share a dial size. The lugs look slimmed down for sure.JBZ wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:02 amDoing more reading, there are some additional changes to the Exp II. The hands on the black dial are now fully SS instead of partially blacked out. The hands and markers on the white dial are matte black instead of gloss. Case shape does look a bit slimmer and the dial looks a little smaller, but that's hard to tell w/o a side by side.

I owned a 216570 for about a week. It looked like a pie pan on my wrist because of the dial. If they've made it better proportioned, that would be the right step IMHO. Still not enough to get me to trade in my 40mm given the size of the new one is still 42.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:07 amInteresting observation that the dial might be smaller. I just wore my 16710 for the first time since the lockdown and it always shocks me how perfect that watch is. The dial size, mid case thickness, caseback, just everything about it is perfect. I should have bought the white Exp2 before they blew up in value because I'm sure it's awesome just do to it's similarities with the GMT2.JBZ wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:11 amI owned a 216570 for about a week. Can't remember where I read it, but its an alloy that is not supposed to tarnish. I like the taupe color.
Now the chronos I really like, specially the black on bracelet. Another one I will try to see in the flesh. It could derail my plans of adding back a Speedy.

All depends on what they did to the silver. They could have used palladium or rhodium to help with tarnish, but will still be much softer than steel and will get a lot of scratches and dings if worn regularly.Panerai7 wrote:Silver B58 is interesting. I LOVE silver jewelry but a dive watch made out of silver is just silly.

The black dial seems to be gloss black now vs. matte black on the outgoing 216570.JBZ wrote:Doing more reading, there are some additional changes to the Exp II. Not sure if we touched on Tudors Heritage Black Bay 32,36, and 41mm with
sleek cases, silver dials, and T600 movement also.

I think you're right. Of course, the Rolex website only identifies it as "black". Which is true, to their credit.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 9:50 amThe black dial seems to be gloss black now vs. matte black on the outgoing 216570.JBZ wrote:Doing more reading, there are some additional changes to the Exp II. The 16570 is the one watch I keep coming back to, mostly for the size. Great diameter for my wrist, but the svelte case, especially for a sports watch, is also great. I imagine it's the same with the 16710 (it's the identical watch with a different bezel).Seppia wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 2:43 pmYes it’s the best wearing watch I’ve ever ownedJP Chestnut wrote:I just wore my 16710 for the first time since the lockdown and it always shocks me how perfect that watch is. I actually love the 41mm Tudor sizing (BB GMT, BB Chrono), but I really want an adjustable clasp option...

This new Chrono uses a new slimmer case too.matt.wu wrote:I actually love the 41mm Tudor sizing (BB GMT, BB Chrono), but I really want an adjustable clasp option...
I’m with you on the clasp

Does the silver one say “Hecho en Mexico” and come with packs of chiclets gum?

Nope. No dive extension, no EZ-link, no spring-assisted micro-adjustment. Just your bog-standard, use-a-spring-bar-tool, clasp micro-adjustment. The same one used in OLD Rolex models.
Unacceptable.
Re: Tudor Releases New Watches April 7th
I’ll never wear the bracelet but gotta buy with one for resale.
The same bracelet on my old BB41 was the most uncomfortable bracelet

This is why’s I don’t get excited about the new releases. I think a silver black bay is really dumb and actually thought it was a joke. But if I took releases seriously I’d prob be angry.
Never mind, I am angry at Tudor for one of the dumbest things you can do to a dive watch. Great leadership in Tudor HQ....

Re: Tudor Releases New Watches April 7th
I think the silver 58 is pretty silly, but from a hardness perspective it is no worse than an 18 ct gold submariner, or the various bronze or carbon fiber reinforced plastic dive watches that are so popular.

Re: Tudor Releases New Watches April 7th
The new one is supposed to be .5mm thinner which is a plus, I guess.
Re: Tudor Releases New Watches April 7th
Somehow the bracelet/lug width on those OG 41mm black bays never looked right to me.... just seemed too fat for the case. Somehow the new renders looks better but I assume it is still 41mm?

Re: Tudor Releases New Watches April 7th
I was worried about it upon release but this real life undoctored shot confirms for me the white version is not super legible and lacks contrast with the hands & hour markers vs the white dial. I’ll need to see more shots to make up my mind. Still want One at this point but it’s a concern for me personally.
The initial redness and highly modified release pictures do a good job at hiding that
And pics of the black

I think the black dial / white subdial is the one to have. For a white dial watch, the ExpII or the Seamaster are more legible.
