Yeah, don’t like the numerals on the tribute. The whole thing feels just off. You know what people want? They want the 3705. Change something very minor, so the original remains special, but don’t f it all up.

Re: New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ TAG Heuer
That's a handsome watch.....if retail is/as $7,250 we should see these pop up today for 15K
Re: New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ TAG Heuer
I know some are not ‘Dink reissue fans but they do put out some nice pieces. This Dato is a great looking watch and not crazy $$$ for a column wheel v clutch movement w an interesting historical dial. I like.

Ridiculous publicity for a restricted release.

Re: New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ TAG Heuer
I like the design and the size. I'd wear it. But there are tons of watches I'd rather have for $7,250.

New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ TAG Heuer
That is actually a really good looking watch. I dig it. Price isn’t crazy for a collab and in house calibre though I’d prefer a 5-6K price tag

Re: New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ TAG Heuer
I know I've said this before, but these Hodinkee collabs must be mostly pre-sold. I could be wrong, of course, but I find it really hard to believe that they sold 250 Tag Heuers at $7250 a pop in an hour or two.
BTW this LE is still available for $6450 with the same movement, and is even better looking IMHO:

Re: New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ TAG Heuer
I believe 125 of the 250 were available on Hodinkee while the remaining 125 were allocated to Tag Heuer Boutiques.logan2z wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:21 amI know I've said this before, but these Hodinkee collabs must be mostly pre-sold. Re: New Hodinkee Collaboration w/ TAG Heuer
Thanks, still skeptical that 125 would sell out that quickly but I guess it's possible.rockmastermike wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:48 amI believe 125 of the 250 were available on Hodinkee while the remaining 125 were allocated to Tag Heuer Boutiques.logan2z wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:21 amI know I've said this before, but these Hodinkee collabs must be mostly pre-sold. It's not a Hodinkee collaboration, so I assume so:Jeep99dad wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:49 amThat is sexy. Hodinkee sells it in their shop because they are an AD.

I don't like their business model but their design choices are showing basically every manufacturer that it's not that hard to make a watch that isn't total crap.

I loved the skipper, and missed on that by waiting.
I really like this one unexpectedly.
But I cant believe it sold out immediately.

I'll bet a lot of them are speculators. Either folks who are trying to make a quick buck like our ebay friends listing it for $10k or people who plan to leave it in the box in the hopes that it will increase in value over the next few months or years.logan2z wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 8:07 amThanks, still skeptical that 125 would sell out that quickly but I guess it's possible.rockmastermike wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:48 amI believe 125 of the 250 were available on Hodinkee while the remaining 125 were allocated to Tag Heuer Boutiques.logan2z wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:21 amI know I've said this before, but these Hodinkee collabs must be mostly pre-sold. Probably. This sort of stuff is slowly eroding my enjoyment of this hobby.JBZ wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 11:12 amI'll bet a lot of them are speculators.
