Supermarine 1000

Post by andrema » Sun Feb 07, 2021 1:47 pm

Thanks to Paul, I now own a Bremont Supermarine 1000!

Thanks for the trade and giving my S500 a younger brother!

Man that looks clean! Gives a bit of a Blancpain vibe to the Supermarine.

ha - that was TOO nice of a watch for me, tbh... The Bremont box says "luxury watches" and that is quite accurate - you can really feel the quality. Looks great Mark! Thanks again for a SMOOTH deal

Whoa, looking good Mark, or fantastic actually to be much more precise ! 8-)
There really is such a classic, and clean feel to this head turner when you
think about it. But somehow it doesn't look like so many other divers. :o
There is something about the way Bremont does things. Maybe it's the cool
combination of subtle design elements. I mean they are everywhere, from
the hands, and markers on the dial. To the look of the bezel ! ..Even the nice
deepness of the black dial pulls you in.

I swear you feel like the watch is like a portal into the deepest parts of space.
Or the deepest part of the ocean. It's so cool, and now you get to appreciate
in person sir. Keep on enjoying, and a HUMUNGOUS congrats here on this one !!!

Great looking watch. Why did Bremont change their math?

Great looking watch. Why did Bremont change their math?
Apparently because their original math was wrong.

The new version is definitely correct. That’s very strange.

Very. I guess nobody checked the math before the dial was printed, or the dial printer messed up

Knowing Bremont, they’ll probably have some obscure explanation.

During WWII, a British fighter plane on the way back from a sortie crashed into water that was exactly 500 meters or 1640 feet deep. However, when the plane reached the bottom, it sunk an additional 20 feet into the sea floor. Our diver's watch celebrates that quirk of history with an intentionally inaccurate depth reference. The movement itself actually contains a small amount of metal from the frame of that aircraft.
