TAG Heuer's latest Carrera models
TAG Heuer's latest Carrera models
Hey everyone, have you had a chance to catch TAG Heuer’s
newest Carreras? ..There look to be quite a few variations
with one even being the special edition Carrera Porsche
Chronograph as well.
Looks like the watches have details like 44mm cases, 100M
WR, fixed steel, or ceramic bezels, black, blue, green, and
also gray dials, Heuer Caliber 02 movement, and cool leather
straps, and stainless steel bracelets too.
Some pictures...

Re: TAG Heuer's latest Carrera models
Those look nice, if only they didn't say "TAG" on the dial...
Re: TAG Heuer's latest Carrera models
This blue model is hot. Say what you want about TH, they do a nice job with Chrono subdial spacing. I even like how they integrate the date window. Their chrono movement is also nice.... 80 hour PR, column wheel and vertical clutch, high beat, etc... A little big for me at 44mm

Re: TAG Heuer's latest Carrera models
Tag has a serious identity crisis - they don't seem to know if they want to be a mall-watch brand or a high-end brand. I saw the launch video for the Tag/Porsche partnership and it was so over the top and cheesy, I had to turn it off.
The sad part is that the company makes some great watches - in particular the Heuer-branded reissues of vintage pieces like the Monaco, Carrera, Autavia, etc., but most watch enthusiasts associate the brand with cheap, poorly designed dreck sold at mall kiosks and that puts them off. I mean, how can the same brand be responsible for these two watches?
Tom, as always, thanks for posting about these new watches. These do nothing for me personally and the prices are honestly a bit laughable. $6K for the LE Carrera? Hard to see these selling well.

Re: TAG Heuer's latest Carrera models
they're still smoking crack at TH... coming out with overpriced 44mm chronographs

Re: TAG Heuer's latest Carrera models
Some of the time their watches, and also videos may not seem to hit on all
cylinders all the time. But really am liking these new Carreras, and what they
did with them. It's almost like each watch is completely different thanks to
different bezel materials, and dial/bezel combinations. Then the Porsche Chronograph
turbo charges the design to set itself apart too.
It's one of those watches where I like each variation, and keep changing what
is my favorite. Their all beautiful honestly, but the green keeps grabbing me
the most.
Want to thank YOU guys as always just for chiming in, and for telling it like it is !!!

Wish the Porsche version wasn’t 44MM. Some of their stuff isn’t bad..

Those are great lookers, Tom. Thanks for posting. I agree with the masses though... Tag has to figure out who they are and the target audience they want. And then try and actually not deviate off that for more than 48 days.

Re: TAG Heuer's latest Carrera models
It's so obvious too. TAG Heuer for the fashion forward/mall stuff and just Heuer for the stuff that people here would tend to like. They should hire me as a branding consultant.Bradystraps wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 7:16 amThose are great lookers, Tom. Thanks for posting. I agree with the masses though...
