New Guinand Flieger Chrono GMT

Post by logan2z » Sat Jan 23, 2021 8:08 am

Based on their classic Ref. 255. Scheduled for release in mid-February.

I haven't seen pricing yet, but based on their other Series 40 watches (40mm) I would guess it will be around 1600 Euros.

Nice one, cool Sinn vibe.

That’s a great looking Chrono. I’d rock one and price seems reasonable vs similar Sinn chronos

You can track a second time zone with the 12 hour bezel.

Ah yeah. Didn’t realize that made a watch a gmt watch. My bad

It’s a nice looking watch, but simply putting a 12 hour bezel hardly makes it worthy of being called a “GMT” in my opinion.

I don’t mean to be pedantic, but “GMT” in my mind refers to a movement complication, not a bezel insert.

I wouldn’t say my Alpina GMT has a compass. It has a compass scale on the bezel.

They do seem to be stretching the definition of a GMT watch a bit by only including a 12 hour bezel, rather than a separately adjustable hour hand that tracks the second time zone using a 24 hour bezel.

I honestly don’t know and was serious about my question. I always thought a gmt complication was needed to be referred to as a GMT but I truly have no idea :)
I’d have called it a Chrono 12-hr bezel but it does serve the purpose of tracking another time zone so Image
Either way I love it and I’d be interested as I miss my Sinn Chrono but Sinn has gotten too $

Guinand does seem to be the new Sinn - great looking tool watches at relatively affordable prices. And they have the benefit of the Helmut Sinn connection too.

Ooh nice Andrew ! :o :) Yeah, totally seeing the Sinn within these, and just
the terrific vintage personality honestly. 8-) There's something about the
design that really grabs you. It's seemingly simple, and clean, but I think
it's complicated, and mean at the same time ! :headbang: And it's another
one that I don't think I have seen yet. So thanks again Andrew !!!
