Chuck Yeager RIP

Post by sierra11b » Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:27 pm

One of my hero’s. Going to watch ‘the right stuff’ tomorrow in his honor.

The shot of him wearing a gmt master motivated me to get one. There’s an early shot of him as a Colonel wearing a big crown sub.

The first PC game I ever played was Chuck Yeager flight simulator when I was a wee chap.
He’s a legend.

Do yourself a favor and read "The Right Stuff" - might be the best non-fiction book I ever read. And the movie is just as good.

Well done, Chuck. Vaya Con Dios.

I didn't know he was still alive. A test pilot who lives to 97 has got to be breaking some kind of barrier. What a life!

We are losing so many legends, icons, and just great people recently Eric.

Chuck Yeager is, and was definitely an honest to goodness hero, and also
American treasure. Can't thank you enough for posting this up for all of us.
My thoughts are with his family, and friends. My prayers as well.

I read his autobiography several years ago. Great book - couldn't put it down. RIP.

I always thought that he must have had balls as big as Texas, but with a mind and a skill set to match. I remember, after his wife died, he married a much younger gal and his children got involved in some legal skirmish over money. Money, of course...
