Maybe a dumb idea, but how about a Family and Friends Sub-Forum in the Fun Stuff Forum.

A place to just post a pic without the need to start a separate thread.

What could possibly go wrong?
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.
