I love GO but that date placement is a travesty.
Airain Type 20
Re: Airain Type 20
I normally hate chomped numerals, but I don’t mind it on this one for some reason. My 40mm Hanhart got it right.

That is indeed a major and much bigger travesty - to the "WTF were the designer(s) thinking" point. No comparison to the nibbles on the Airain Type 20.
Very nice. And proof it can be done if max size registers (or un-nibbled numerals) are not the goal - and those are still plenty big on the Hanhart.

We'll have to lay blame at the feet of the original designers from the 1950s. Airain is clearly trying to reproduce the original design as faithfully as possible, and that means a few numerals were harmed in the making of this watch.raf42 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 5:22 pmThat is indeed a major and much bigger travesty - to the "WTF were the designer(s) thinking" point. The watches were intended as actual tools and I'm sure the original designers prioritized legibility of the sub registers over intact numerals. It doesn't bother me at all on this watch. But someone at GO should be fired for their design atrocity.

Sums it up for me. Unproven brand makes $3k a no-go for me, so I don’t even bother evaluating whether or not I like the design.dukerules wrote:The Type XX is such a great, legendary design. This piece looks killer. A bit more than I would spend on an unproven brand, but this ticks a lot of boxes.
