New JLC Polaris Mariner Coming - Art's Dream Comes True

Post by logan2z » Wed Sep 30, 2020 7:39 am

Not on the US site yet but full details here:

https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/eu/it/ ... riner.html

Looks to be a true dive watch...

Designed to the highest standards of diving regulations with incredible precision and mechanics, Polaris Mariner timepieces are officially ISO-6425 certified dive watches and even go beyond the specifications of this standard.

To meet the demands of diving sports and ensure maximum safety, Jaeger ‑ LeCoultre has exceeded the certification requirements for diving watches by tripling the water resistance to 300 meters (30 bar). The Grande Maison has also designed a screw-down crown to prevent involuntary movements, equipped with an orange safety band to warn divers when the crown is not fully closed, and has Super-LumiNova® coated the indexes and hour hands. minutes and seconds to ensure perfect visibility in the deepest waters.

The ISO-6425 certification of Polaris Mariner watches reinforces the diving standards of the Grande Maison with extraordinary precision in measuring time.

And it’s got that beautiful blue dial they brought out previously.

Ha! You whine long enough they listen. Nice move Richemont, instead of admitting the fuck up with current “dive watch” Polaris line, quietly improve and make a beautiful blue dial Memovox. Me likey and this is most certainly will be mine :bananastoner:

They give it the screw crown, but remove lume from the hands.

Hands are great! Enough lume yet you can still see the alarm behind the minute hand. Plus lume indicator on the second hand. Who does silver polished invisible second hand on a diver?!
Anyway all perfect improvements. Well done zhe-zhe

And it's not a Rolex so you might be able to get one before you're too old to see it :bootyshake:

Now that looks outstanding. I assume the dual crown Polaris will follow this upgrade to the Memovox?

I think the Polaris might've been one my favorite new watches in a while that I didn't buy on principle. And this kinda changes things...

Looks like this is going to come in at around $20K. As much as I like JLC, at that price I'd probably go for the ROO Diver.

What? Are you serious? The regular Polaris Memovox was 12,600 MSRP

No way! it’s $12,300 (not 12,600) on strap.
Now they fixed all the mistakes and want 7-8K for the fixes? Lol

Then they wonder when AD has to give them away at 30-35% off

Right, :)
A lot of good it did the last time, as you can see they still have the limited version Polaris Memovox available on their own website for sale 3 years later since launch
Imagine if this was a limited edition Rolex, it wouldn't even become available for sale haha

Unfortunately I am serious. The prices I've seen listed are £15,400 and €17,400, which convert to approximately $21K given today's exchange rates at my bank. Hey, but you get a bracelet and a rubber strap for that price ;)

The date-only version is about $13K.

A little better 17K for alarm and 11K for Date. Still want to see official pricing. Doesn't add up that a screw down crown update commands such a drastic price hike

A little better. But for an additional $2K I still think I'd go for the AP Diver. No alarm but I rarely use that feature of my Master Memovox.

And the AP has two screw-down crowns ;)

Personally I agree the AP is better spend but price aside I much prefer the JLC.

Well if you take Alarm out. Date vs Date JLC is 11 and AP is 19, that’s quite a difference

Yea, $17k for the Memovox and $11k for the three hand diver. The latter is 42mm and 13.92 mm thick.
