New Benrus Type I
New Benrus Type I
Saw this on another forum. I’m intrigued. Anyone heard any other details? Did some group just buy the Benrus name/designs?

Wasn't there a Japanese company selling watches under the Benrus name a few years ago? Type 1 homage with quartz movement, if memory serves. I think Thian Wong has/had one.Chocodove wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 4:02 pmSaw this on another forum. I’m intrigued. Anyone heard any other details? Did some group just buy the Benrus name/designs?

Checked out the website. They look like thousand dollar automatic Timex's to me.

I’ve been seeing them post on IG. I want one but I have a feeling they will be priced very high for what it is. In the comments people are asked for a drop date and they just respond “they will be on the website very soon”.

If it's a mechanical movement and isn't priced ridiculously high, I might end my self-imposed moratorium on watch purchases and pick one up. I've always liked this design.

I think you guys are talking about BEAMS.
Morethan1 sold one a while back and I this this guys on WUS got it.
I tried to message him a while back to buy it but WuS took away my pm privilege when they did an update:

I really love the type ii dial.
the new Benrus will be a type I dial.
If you’re interested in the type ii dial marathon just announced they are having another navigator with steel case releasing 2021.
I want them all. I love the asymmetric cases.

Re: New Benrus Type I
If I recall a while back someone was selling replica versions on either TZ or PMW calling them og's. Then there was a Japanese department store making them and selling them. Recently there is a company selling a cheap version on ebay for around $150.

Re: New Benrus Type I
This is cool Todd, wow, the Type I ! Had remembered them coming out with a
few nice looking heritage watches a couple years back. But not the Type I. Guess
the new owners are tapping a little more into the brand's history. Very nice !
Thanks a ton for the report !!!

If the case and bezel are as nice as Yao’s first version of the Paradive, then it’ll be a winner.

Also noticed Benrus gives a 15% discount for military/LEO/First Responders. Hopefully it applies to this when released. I was approved in minutes. I assume if you qualify for GovX you’d qualify for their discount.

Re: New Benrus Type I
1500 is a lot of cash for a new brand that has yet to prove themselves.
