Eterna Super Kontiki 1973 Heritage on blowout at Ashford
Re: Eterna Super Kontiki 1973 Heritage on blowout at Ashford
Given the price of Omega mesh these days, it makes it even more worth it. Rakuten gives you an extra 3% off Ashford also.

That is a great deal. It wore pretty large on my 7" wrist and I wasn't in love with the polished case, but it is a cool, unique design with a lot of history.
Looking forward to pics from whoever takes advantage of this deal.

that mesh bracelet could probably be sold off to offset the cost of the watch as I'm sure there are some vintage guys that would want one. I wonder if it has the extension as well.....

Stupid question - is the hour hand that short stubby thing?

I think mine did come with an extension. I might buy one keep the mesh and sell the head.

Exactly what I did with mine! Tempted to buy one, but I expect there will be a few popping up for sale here in a month or two....
Re: Eterna Super Kontiki 1973 Heritage on blowout at Ashford
Couldn't resist at that price...just pulled the trigger. Have always wanted to try one of these. Thanks for the heads up!
Re: Eterna Super Kontiki 1973 Heritage on blowout at Ashford
So tempted. Don’t think it would beat out the MM300 or U1P in the rotation but I still might do it.

There are two different types of dials on these. One has a bigger font than the other for the Eterna-Matic and the ball bearing logo is also slightly different. Once yours start arriving, perhaps you can post pictures to see which ones you get. I've owned both but can't remember which font I prefer.

I’ll post photos. Tracking says it’ll get to my office on Monday.Mr_Pacman wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 8:27 pmThere are two different types of dials on these. I’m hoping for the ball bearing logo and stick indices for the heritage model as advertised. I believe the later edition used triangle shaped makers at the 3, 6, and 9 positions.

Some have a larger ETERNA-MATIC logo and it's almost a blurred font vs other ones that have a smaller font and quite crisp and tight.
Here are pictures of the big font:

Interesting, wonder if the new owners kept making this watch, possibly cheapening the design?
The triangle versions are primarily post sale of the company, I believe to a Chinese firm.
