Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
Ah, another 'almost there' from CW. I like it but this for me is a watch that does not become more than the sum of its parts, quite the opposite.
Often with micro brands, not saying CW is a micro, but we see watches that, if individual elements don't quite make the grade, the whole watch does, and somehow a brand nails it.
With this one, I feel it's the opposite.
The case looks fantastic, once again they have sculpted a beautiful case with great lines, dual crowns- check, the compression ring is cool, it looks cool! And its functional.
Sunburst dials, applied indices, I can even live with the slightly out of proportion rotating bezel. If you look at the pics of the individual components, great, all looks good yet somehow, as a whole package, it just doesn't seem to quite work?
What is it? Dial not vintage looking enough? Sunburst dial not in keeping with period? I don't know but yet another technically really interesting watch from CW but not quite enough to hit the spot.....

Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
I think it’s partly the color choices. I don’t get the orange lume dots from 12 to 4, and the overall color choices just don’t work for me. The internal bezel looks too thick as well. It’s ok, though, as a no date it’s a no go for me anyways.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.
Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
Very nice. So many cool touches and details throughout which are usually lacking from bigger more expensive brands. Screw down crowns (what a concept, zheh zheh).
I would love to try the blue dial for sure. Wonder if 41 with a thick internal bezel will wear kinda small on me. Any discount?

A little busy but the blue is the first CW watch I'd consider owning. Wish the logo was cooler.

These guys are doing cool stuff at a super reasonable price point. Nice that there is a bracelet option.

I like well enough.
Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
You're not kidding Greg, it looks amazing !
A lot of times when watch brands, or companies come out with super compressors
today, they have a similar look, or looks. However, these give you more of a cool
skin diver feel from years back. It's just really sleek looking, and you can, or
could actually picture it in the water. The combination of colors, as well as neat
eye-catching details really helps set this one apart !
First time seeing this Greg, so thanks a lot !!!

Looks pretty cool in the video on the CW site.

22mm lugs is better than the 21 some are using.
I’d wear the black one on tropic

Prob best lookin Chr. Wart I’ve seen
Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
as usual, other peoples' pics are better than CWs. W&W has a hands on review.

i really think they did a nice job with the profile of the case.

Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
The name on the dial kills it for me. If they would stop putting the name and replace it with a symbol I would have considered many of their watches.

Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
looks like the one labeled as a black dial is not really a black dial - I don't know if I like the gradient brown? It's not bad I think a black would be a nice 3rd option to the brown and blue.
I wonder when these will hit Joma or Gnomon?

Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
have joma or gnommon ever sold CW? i thought they were purely direct-to-consumer. they usually put their own watches on sale.

Personally, I think this is the nicest CW I’ve seen. I’ll still never buy one, but the name/logo is in the right place on this one IMO.

Most moms put the name on the tag, not the front of the shirt.

Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
The blue looks great. By far their nicest watch.
Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
My only comment is that the lume paint on the hands seems scarce and when lumed it looks grainy and weak, I assume these are their own pictures.
Re: Christopher Ward C65 Supercompressor
it'll be interesting to see more 3rd party pics. CW notoriously does not take the best photos of their own watches. which still boggles my mind. at this point in their existence, you'd think they could hire a decent photographer.

Nice watches, but I can't get past the hokey looking trident on the seconds hand.
