New Steinhart - Ocean One GMT two- tone chocolate

Post by hobbit712 » Thu Aug 27, 2020 9:01 am

Just received the email on a new version of the Ocean One. A little two tone bling. I kinda like it. The chocolate dial is a bit different.

I have the Pepsi, solid watch and like the Gnomon no-cyclops purchase option

This has too much bling for me, but the chocolate dial is nice.

Oh boy, those ARE nice Steve, and the dial really does look amazing ! :excited:
The dial literally looks like chocolate, and not just a normal brown.
You almost feel like you could take a bite if you wanted to. It is
very cool, and as usual, you can imagine that the watch is even better
in person. 8-)

Thanks very much for the news Steve !!!

This. I had a former boss who wore an Invicta TT Sub "homage." It seemed like every couple of weeks you could see more an more of the plating rub off. Really looked like crap - I guess he liked it or didn't care, though.

Gold is definitely not my thing but i’ve owned a few Steiharts and found their quality to be really good for the 4-500 bucks they seem to cost, but how these companies get away with blatant copies is beyond me.

Not trying to hijack the thread and make it a “homage” vs “rep” thread (we’ve had enough of those), it’s just always a bit jarring to me to open a thread and see these watches which have hijacked almost everything from someone else...

Anyway, don’t mind me, carry on

It seems wrong saying this as I love my gold G square and I liked the gold NAFT, which I should have kept, but I don’t really like 2 tone. I like Steinhart and I’ve thought about a Pepsi GMT, but I’m still iffy on homages. I did have a mil sub from them and I liked the watch, but just couldn’t get on with the gray dial and faux aged lume. If that would have had regular lume and a black dial I think I would have kept it.
