Sunday Afternoon Watch crawl

Post by rockmastermike » Sun Aug 23, 2020 4:41 pm

TL;DR
everyone was friendly and I think glad to just have a customer in their store.
Also, anyone have experience with the AP Scuba?

had lunch with long time HS friends and then went on a small watch crawl...one of my HS friends was wearing this 2 tone Thunderbird and it did not suck

First stop was the AP Boutique - super friendly and I tried on these two beauties

Next was the Omega Boutique - tons of everything and even offered discounts "if I bought one today" That being said, they didn't mind I was just window shopping and let me try on a couple I had my eye one

Finally was the Rolex boutique inside Mayors Jewlers - sadly but not unexpectedly not much selection. No worries, all I really wanted was to try on the new DJ36 on Jubiliee.....they had it on Oyster and still looks good to me.

Damn. Some nice pics!

I want that omega bond.

I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man

It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now
Now you may be thinking that I was had

Did they offer you a discount on the bond I wonder...

Ap scubas are fun. I had one way back when. Heavy - especially on bracelet, and the ss bezel scratches when you look at it. There have been quite a few around here with them. I remeber the internal bezel was hard to use also (for those that use the bezel).

Have not done a watch crawl in a while-- those were some cool pieces you tried on. Wonder if Mayor's had any of the Rolex Subs or GMTs in their safe. Most of these ADs are keeping them in the back. Thanks for sharing.

they didn't offer on the Bond but they sure did on the AT

Thanks for in insight on the Scuba.....I don't know if the idea of having one is better than actually owning/living with one. I'd like to try and find out because, well, :banghead:

I didn't ask but I'm sure you're spot on with that.
