So, I wanted a new military watch...
One of the watch styles I always liked is the military type. Of course this could mean different looks depending on which company or hobbyist one talks to. And in fact there have been many different types through the many years.
I have done my share of projects with that military idea in mind but recently I actually found a new one. Using a Seiko diver SKX007 that I had from earlier projects, I put together this. The Seiko case has been modified with drilled through lug holes, the crystal has been replaced with a domed sapphire. The bezel is now fixed and smooth. The dial is a new to me military style with 1-12 numbers and the hands are also military shaped. The movement has been replaced with a NE15 which is essentially a 6r15 movement and the case back is see through.
I took a few pics to show the result, it is the first one I was able to make with this kind of dial and like it a lot.

Stunning Carlo, and if a company doesn't make a watch like this, then you
can just build it. It's awesome really ! This watch really does have
that tried, and true military feel, and especially with this astonishingly nice
dial you added in. Holy cow, you just created the perfect military watch, or
watch in general. Honestly, it's classic, as well as timeless. Paying tribute
to watches, along with watchmakers from the past. All while being a one
of a kind. Can it get better than that?! No way !
Yet another showstopper Carlo ! ..Man oh man, unbelievable !!!

Your creation gives the 007 a whole new ‘tough’ feel. Very nice.

Re: So, I wanted a new military watch...
Thank you for the kind words.
Tom, I cannot say that this is perfect but it might be "perfect for me"...
It is very interesting actually, how I am perfectly happy with the projects I have been doing, without spending an arm and a leg I am actually having some nice (to me) watches that I enjoy... maybe that story of the happy man that did not have a shirt is true after all...

You are very very welcome, and actually the real thanks goes to you for showing
us your latest creation Carlo. I mean the amount of time it has to take to
plan everything out has to be incredible. But then to take the time to take pics,
and share them with us is just THE best imho. Thank YOU once again !
Seriously, think you have shown that this hobby is so vast, and that the possibilities
with watches don't just start, and stop with all of the companies out there, or even
buying watches from them. The, or a perfect watch can actually be dreamt up, and
then built ! And even if someone isn't thinking of building their own watch, at least
they have discovered yet another amazing thing about this hobby thanks to you.
Hope you keep them coming, and of course, keep on enjoying !!!
