Re: WRUW 16 August 20
Been up since about 03:00 as a series of thunderstorms continue to roll through. Doesn't happen around here often at all. 103 to watch the show.

Bummer. Hope it comes back on for you before it really heats up later today.
We suffered in the fire related blackouts last year, and also being in a level 2 fire zone, we are scheduled to have solar with battery backup installed soon. Probably won't happen in time for this years blackout fun, but at least next year will be in a better position to weather the outages.
We've also never had air conditioning (lived here for decades), and gotten by fine except for a few days. Had it installed a few months ago, and just in time for the longest heatwave in years.

Continuing the honeymoon with the Seiko LE SPB149, still on the bracelet though I may switch to its blue rubber strap later.

I considered grabbing Wu’s and may still get one at some point. I’m interested to see how it wears & compares with the one I have.
Re: WRUW 16 August 20
Are you liking the green dial and bezel?

Re: WRUW 16 August 20
It's a great feature that adds depth and plays with the light
very much so, it can range from almost black to a light green and everything in-between.
It is a more subtle green in real life and yet has a dynamic range .... a sunburst in sunlight and a muted almost flat green indoors.
the combo of both a green dial and bezel is prefect very easy to live with

You guys are killing me.
I need the green Willard and the spb149.

Wu’s pic definitely help me and swayed me to this model. I called the AD and he texted me that night that he had two being transfer from his other store and was holding one for me. I rushed there the next day and wasn’t disappointed when i saw it in the metal. I also tried the Willard and loved them too. Next one for me i think after i get close the deal on the Breitling I’m after.
Anyway the mid case on this seiko is awesome, thin, curved and streamlined by top and bottom beveled edges. Almost Ike a skin diver profile. The blue dial and gold accent is homerun. The bracelet is also much improved from other seiko I owned. Though I dislike that awkward diver extension.
If I could change a few tings
- slightly narrower bezel and larger dial opening instead
- no date or date at 6 to maintain the 3 o’clock marker and dial balance.
- “female” end link rather than the “male” with large protruding center section.
- signed crown.
