WatchRecon And WUS

Post by mattcantwin » Sun Jun 28, 2020 8:35 am

WUS is in the process of an upgrade; the forum is currently in a read-only status with no posting.

Interesting to see how that changes what is currently posted on WatchRecon.

I don’t understand how the people who run the site think that it’s an acceptable format. The pop up ads make it really tough to browse, and without paying fees you can only attach one photo at a time (sales ads). The site has lost ease of use as a reference tool. I not sure which is more hassle for sales, WUS members or bay fees.

Like a dummy, I've been trying to post something for sale there for two days. I can log on, but get read only status. Who knows what they're up to.

It's been a while since I've posted anything FS, but I'm pretty sure you can still post as many pics as you want there using URL links to a photo sharing site like Flickr.
No, it's not Tourettes.

Seems okay so far, but watchrecon isn't picking up listings from the new site yet.

It seems that they are using the same style software of The Watch Site and Watchfreeks. Not as easy to navigate... hopefully it will work better.

There's a lag of several hours for sales forum posts on Watchfreeks to show up on Watchrecon. Now that they share the same kind of software, maybe WUS is the same way.

hahaha so basically they want you to pay to have a forum act the way it is suppose to without all the ads? but at the same time they have sponsors who already pay for the operation of the forum.

i can see them saying this "hey you know all those ads we are paid to push in-front of your face all day long, WELL you can get rid of them for a monthly fee that will take away our sponsored ads"!!! wtf :monkeypiss:

Welcome to the nuthouse!

The new WUS format is indeed maddening.

I think a lot of us know you, but it’ll be a good move to do an intro thread for those who don’t.

What a bunch of asshats. The popups killed my respect. Demanding money kills my desire.

With Tapatalk I've noticed no difference on WUS, but I also haven't updated my app in almost a year.

The only thing I noticed new with using Tapatalk on WUS is it no longer limits the number of likes displayed for a post to 3...

Oh man. It's almost exactly the same as the new Seiko/Citizen Forum (now called TheWatchSite for some reason), which SUCKS!

Same owners (VerticalScope), same forum software (XenForo). I assume they're going to migrate all of their sites to the same forum software.

Doesn't look like it, not at the moment anyway.
