Watchbox finally finished

Post by stonehead887 » Thu Apr 23, 2020 9:57 am

Hi guys

Hope everyone is staying safe and sane with lockdown. News is saying is could be lifting soon.
With so much time on my hands, I was determined to get my watch box finished. Ran out of glue and had to wait for it to be delivered but otherwise made use of materials I already had.
I must say, I am rather pleased with it considering what it looked like when I got it. It's only been 4 years in the making!
I didn't make the box itself, I picked it up for 30 quid, an old scientific instrument box of some sort.
I stripped, cleaned, waxed and polished on the outide and fitred the hardware. everything inside I made myself. It has 2 lift out boxes, one with watches, one with straps and tools and crap, I need to tidy it up. That tray is lined with an old map.
It's a rather big box and I have 41 watches in it. Trouble is, after all this work it is full already!
So that either means no more watches or on to the next box.
Enjoy the pics.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Yeah, holy cow, can't actually imagine it turning out any nicer Jeremy ! :excited: :salute:
Guess you'll just have to start planning out the next one just because
you have a real talent, and it has to be incredibly fun ! :headbang:

The design is terrific, and also timeless actually, and looks amazing
on top of the dresser. It's so cool how not only the wood itself looks,
but then the hardware is sensational as well. With the inside looking
just as beautiful.

Not sure if you have ever seen Star Wars, but it looks similar to the
cool chest Obi-Wan kept Luke's lightsaber. In any case, it's phenomenal !!!

Watch box came out great.

Sounds like you need to add some watch storage into the desk refurb project.

That looks really good Jeremy, I like your idea with using an old map to line the tray.

So you had the purple lining to hand then?
Did you cut up an old outfit?

Great work and nice to see someone with more watches than me
