Anyone have a good tutorial?

So....second hand fell off.

My watch guy is, obviously, MIA

Is this something to try myself?

Ask Paul for help. Send the watch to him along with a 12 pack. Can’t go wrong!

Damn that omega looks so nice!

I had this happen in a 156 fresh back from service at RGM.
I’d send it away to get it fixed. That’s too nice to screw up.

I wouldn’t touch it. You’re likely to further degrade the lume on the hour hand, maybe allowing it into the movement.

Hoping my local guy calls me and we can arrange a “drop off”. I’ll leave it be.

Thx

I tried this with a cheap Seiko. Did not go well.

Stay home longer and get it to him in a few weeks. I’ve got two that need servicing but are staying home for now.

It might need to be crimped and restaked. No uncommon since they loosen up over time. The biggest issue is that lume. That shit looks fragile. I would get that lume stabilized before it ends up in the movement.

I might be going against the grain, Mike, but I’d give it a good shake until the hand falls back into place.

Nice pickup, by the way. I’ve been absent for a while but it’s nice to see some things never change (though it’s conspicuously non-Doxa)

Doxa and vintage omega... it’s an 8:1 ratio, very consistent.
