Pretty Funny Sales Post

Post by mattcantwin » Wed Jan 22, 2020 1:15 pm

This is part of a sales post on WUS by Chasovnik; I like his style.

Up FOR SALE ONLY…an Uncle Seiko Tropic-style strap, in 19mm, and in excellent condition. Purchased a while back, worn only a few times…WOULD NOT BREAK IN! Hard as a rock…no softness in sight. I tried working it in my hands…I tried rolling it up tight and leaving it rolled up…I tried soaking it in boiling water. No…none of that worked.

This strap sucks.

Straight up the worst strap I have ever owned. Why should you buy it? So you can see for yourself! There are folks out there who like this strap. And…they’re crazy people (who’ve no experience with nice straps). Are you one of them? Buy this strap, see for yourself.

Saw that. If I needed a 19mm strap, I'd buy it just 'cuz.

I’ve never understood the love for those Tropic straps. Every one I have tried has sucked.

Yup. Stiff and uncomfortable.

Perfectly describes the one I have. In fact, if someone here wants mine (22mm), they can pay the shipping and have it for free.

Agree that the Uncle Seiko Tropics suck balls. Conversely, the new Tropic straps are extremely good, and the 20mm squeezes easily into 19. Soon as they give us 22mm, my life will be complete.

Agreed. Not as good as the vintage, but the best option out there.

I don’t know what process or compound they used on Best Fit, but it’s never been replicated.

I've had a few aftermarket Z22 type straps like that. Absolute rubbish.

I agree. His best rubber strap so far.
